The Outdoor Ed class finished a big bike ride this week. Mr Kingston Mr Jarrad and Ms Regan led the ride from Ballarat to Skipton. It’s a reasonable distance and students jumped at the chance to test their fitness and see scenery they may not have seen before. We rode from Ballarat to Smythesdale first and set up camp at a great spot with a kitchen, showers and flat ground. The next overnight stop was Linton. With its own little Bike station and footy club facilities. The last day was wet and cold. We rode to Pittong and finished up. Lots of fun and challenges for all of us. Thanks Mr Kingston And Mr Jarrad.

The whole school had a wonderful time celebrating Book Week with a dress up day on Wednesday. We also had special people (including parents, siblings and grandparents) visit our classrooms and shared morning tea in the library. Thank you to everyone that contributed to this fun and memorable day.

Thanks so much to Dylan Jewell from National Herd Management for sharing his extensive knowledge and experience of Artificial Insemination and herd management with the Agriculture students.

Minnie and Patch were great guests!

Agriculture is a vast sector with many possible career paths and the elective unit is an opportunity for students to dip their toes into the industry.

If you are a service practioner, farmer, consultant or have other experience that you would like to share with our students, we would love to hear from you!

After popular demand, the Hands on Learning students constructed another picnic table, this time gifting their efforts, time and skills to the Hawkesdale Racecourse Reserve. We also removed an overgrown garden bed, levelled and mulched it, ready for some new plants. We then enjoyed a hit of golf and some laughs! What a great day out in the community. 😊

Thank you to the students who decorated or purchased a cupcake today. It was a vibe of activity in the Canteen and lots of fun. A big shout out to the Hawkesdale CWA for their kind donation of 150 cupcakes. All proceeds will go to the Dolly foundation.

We still have a small selection of cupcakes available for sale tomorrow. These will be on sale, in the Library, during break 1 for $1 each.

Tomorrow, we continue with Bullying No Way Week with activities during break 1 and 2. It will be great to see lots of students in the library throughout the breaks.
