On Friday the 8th of May, we welcomed over 120 Indigenous Year 6 students from 28 primary schools across Greater Western Sydney to Western Sydney Universities Parramatta South Campus for an exciting on-campus experience day.

Throughout the day, students participated in four engaging workshop rotations including traditional Indigenous games, cultural weaving, nursing, and STEM activities. These workshops provided students with the opportunity to explore future study and career pathways while also strengthening their connection to culture, community, and each other.

It was inspiring to see so many young students stepping outside their comfort zones, learning new skills, asking questions, and engaging so positively with the university environment. Days like these play an important role in building confidence, creating aspirations for the future, and showing students that university is a place where they belong.

A big thank you to all schools, staff, student ambassadors, workshop facilitators, and partners who helped make the day such a success. We look forward to continuing to create meaningful opportunities for Indigenous students across Western Sydney.

This week we welcomed our Indigenous Year 11 and 12 students across two incredible campus days at our Hawkesbury and Liverpool City campuses!

Across the days, students took part in engaging workshops, connected with culture, and experienced what university life is all about.

A big thank you to all the schools who attended, and to our ASPIRE team and cultural providers for delivering such meaningful sessions.

We were also proud to donate 14 bikes to Souths Cares and KARI Australia, supporting young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the community 🚲

It was great to see so many students stepping onto campus and exploring their future pathways 🖤💛❤️

The program offers a one-year opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants to gain paid work-experience within university operations while gaining a Certificate III in Business.

From Monday 29th September to Friday 3rd October 2025, Western Sydney University will be offering a range of online study sessions to assist Year 12 students in their preparations for the HSC.
These sessions will be delivered by highly qualified teachers and will include content analysis, tips and strategies, and a detailed exploration of key syllabus and curriculum areas. Students will also have the opportunity to sit a practice exam and deconstruction, with feedback and advice.
