Western Port Secondary College is situated in the seaside town of Hastings and was opened in 1974. Please contact our Admin Team on 5979 1577 to arrange a time.

It is located in a beautiful rural setting which our students take much pride in. Western Port Secondary College’s current enrolment is approximately 700 students. Our mission is to provide a supportive and dynamic learning environment that challenges all members of the college community to perform to their personal best. We endeavour to promote an atmosphere of mutual respect, tolerance, understa

nding and co-operation which is underpinned by our four core values of Community, Achievement, Respect and Engagement. This will enable our students to thrive in a diverse and changing world. Western Port Secondary College provides a broad curriculum which caters to many pathway options. We recognise the need to prepare students for further education, for work and for the future in a world of technological and social change. High and realistic expectations are part of the challenge for each of our students. Our school places a great emphasis on pastoral care and a very positive approach to student wellbeing. We are constantly seeking to develop each student’s personal and social skills. The College welcomes prospective families and students to tour the Campus.

Tomorrow, Thursday 3 September, we’re taking over the lunch break to celebrate R U OK? Day because a real conversation can make a real difference.

Come join in on 3x3 basketball, a free throw shoot-out, giant chess, our student DJ booth (yep, you can request your song), a jumbo chalk mural, jump rope and four square.

Plus a free sausage sizzle hosted by Hastings Rotary!

Huge shoutout to our VCE VM students for planning all the activities running tomorrow.

Please remember to wear school uniform and a “splash of yellow” - tomorrow is not a free dress day.

Our Western Port SC Book Week celebration today was elite! From incredible costumes to plenty of laughs and school spirit, our community absolutely brought the energy. A huge well done to everyone who got involved across the day. More Book Week highlights still to come…

WPSC Book Week Day! - Dress Up as your favourite Character!
WPSC School Students will engage in activities during home group/lunchtime and are invited to dress up in the theme of book week costumes - there will be a book week parade at lunch along with prizes for best costumes!

Date: Thursday 27th August
Students: ALL Year Levels

This is not a free dress day - students must be in costume with a copy or print out of the book they are from. If they are not dressing up, students must be in regular school uniform.

🏊‍♂️ What a week for Daniel! 🇦🇺

Recently, Year 9 student Daniel Collins had an incredible and full on week representing Team VIC at the School Sport Australia Games!

Of 14 swims, he achieved 13 top 10 finishes, including 5 finals - culminating in a 🥉 BRONZE MEDAL in the 10 x 50m Mixed Freestyle Relay!

A huge thank you to all the teachers and students who watched Daniel swim and cheered him on throughout the week. Your support meant so much! 💚🖤

🩷 WHAT A SHOW. WHAT A TEAM. WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT! 🩷

After weeks of rehearsals, learning lines, perfecting choreography, creating sets, costumes, music and so much more, our students took to the stage for three amazing performances, all completely sold out! And what a success they were!

To our incredibly talented students, we are so incredibly proud of you. Your confidence, commitment and enthusiasm shone through in every performance. You should be so proud of what you have achieved.

A very special thank you to the incredible team behind the scenes who made this production possible. To our staff, production crew, backstage team, volunteers and everyone who worked tirelessly to bring the show to life we couldn’t have done it without you. To Anthea, Stuart, Amy and Adrian in particular - thank you.

And to the families and friends who supported our students throughout the journey, thank you for the lifts, costumes, rehearsals, encouragement, late nights and everything else that happens behind the scenes. Your support has meant so much!

Three shows, countless hours of work and memories that our students will carry with them for years to come.

Well done, Team WPSC…We couldn’t be prouder! 🎀

Today, our VCE Year 11 Health and Human Development students enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Hastings Lifestyle Village, taking part in our first Intergenerational Program!

Students spent time connecting with residents through conversation, games and a shared BBQ lunch, while exploring the important role that intergenerational relationships play in promoting health, wellbeing and community connection.

Experiences like these bring classroom learning to life, providing students with valuable insight into the later stages of the lifespan while fostering empathy, communication skills and meaningful relationships across generations.

A sincere thank you to the welcoming staff and home owners at Hastings Lifestyle Village for hosting our students and making today’s experience so memorable. We look forward to continuing this valuable partnership.

Students are not required to attend school as our staff take part in professional learning and planning to support another successful term.
