Road safety around Canberra schools is everyone’s responsibility.

We are reminding all road users to take extra care around school zones, crossings and surrounding streets.

🧡 Be alert for children (and adults) at school crossings marked with orange ‘children crossing’ flags. Stop at the white hold lines when you see anyone crossing between the orange flags and wait until all pedestrians have completely left the road.
⚠️ Speed, distraction and illegal parking are all factors that can put children at risk.
🚸 Drivers and riders should be extra cautious during peak school times, follow speed limits and stop for pedestrians at crossings.
🅿️ Parents and carers can also support safety by using designated pick up and drop off areas and helping children develop safe travel habits.

A little bit of patience and courtesy can go a long way to protecting the safety of our community.

Inartnership with the Cyber Safety Project, Catholic Network Australia (CNA) is hosting a free live webinar for parents and carers titled Balancing Life & Technology on Monday, 10 August 2026 at 7:30 PM AEST.

The webinar has been designed to provide practical, evidence-informed support for parents and carers navigating technology use in the home, without promoting products or services.

As technology becomes an increasingly integrated part of family life, many parents are looking for practical guidance on helping their children develop healthy digital habits. This webinar moves beyond simply discussing screen time limits and instead provides evidence-informed strategies to support children in building balanced, positive relationships with technology.

The session will explore:
Moving beyond screen time numbers to what really matters.
Reducing conflict around gaming while encouraging healthy habits.
Understanding healthy and unhealthy patterns of video consumption and scrolling.
Establishing bedtime routines that support sleep and wellbeing.
Practical approaches to setting boundaries that work.
Helping children develop lifelong healthy technology habits.

You will leave with:
A fresh perspective on healthy technology use beyond limits and guilt.
Practical ways to recognise positive and unhelpful technology use.
Simple strategies they can implement immediately at home.
Greater confidence to set boundaries and have productive conversations with their children.

This Saturday, we're looking forward to welcoming Archbishop Prowse to celebrate Mass with us.

It will also be a special (and slightly busier!) Mass as we celebrate the Enrolment and Presentation Weekend for our First Holy Communion candidates.

After Mass, please stay and join us for a light supper with cheese, wine and other delicious nibbles. If you're able, we'd love you to bring a plate to share as we gather together as a parish community.

NAPLAN results can feel overwhelming, but they offer a valuable snapshot of your child’s progress in literacy and numeracy.

Understanding what the results mean can help you support their learning more effectively.

In this blog from CSPA partner MultiLit Literacy Centres, they break down the NAPLAN proficiency levels and offer practical tips and helpful questions to ask your child’s teacher.

Family Tech Agreements

Another great resource from the eSafety Commissioner, a family tech agreement is a set of rules about how devices, like smartphones, tablets, computers, TVs and gaming consoles are used in your home.

Download age-appropriate templates from their website.
