Values and attitudes are not the same thing, and mixing them up costs marks.

Values are what someone believes is right or wrong. Attitudes are how those beliefs surface in what they do or say. Values cause the attitudes.

How your ATAR is actually calculated.

It is not just your exam score. Every ATAR subject has two components: your school assessments and your WACE exam, weighted 50% each. SCASA combines and moderates them, then TISC scales each subject against the others.

Your TEA is the sum of your top 4 scaled scores out of 430, plus bonuses for a language, Maths Methods or Maths Specialist. Then every Year 12 student is ranked, and your ATAR is the percentage of students your score sits above.
