πŸ“šβœ¨ Book Week at Hampton Public School! βœ¨πŸ“š

What a wonderful day we had celebrating our love of books, stories and reading! Our students looked fantastic as they brought their favourite book characters to life for our Book Week Parade. πŸ“–πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ§™β€β™‚οΈπŸ‰

There were plenty of smiles, creativity and fabulous costumes β€” and lots of opportunities to celebrate the joy that books bring to our little school community. ❀️

A huge thank you to our families for helping make the day so special. What a wonderful way to celebrate Book Week 2026! πŸ“šπŸŒŸ

What a day at Hampton! 🌟

Today was all about creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and giving our students the chance to let their ideas shine!

We kicked things off with the Paper Tower Challenge, where students had to work together to design and build the tallest tower they could, using just 20 sheets of paper and masking tape! It was a fantastic opportunity to practice communication, collaboration, planning, problem-solving, perseverance and flexible thinking β€” especially when a carefully constructed tower suddenly decided it had had enough! πŸ˜‚πŸ—οΈ

Next came Hampton’s Ultimate Playground Challenge, where students put their imaginations to work designing the ultimate playground for our school. They had to listen to and build on each other's ideas, make decisions together, consider what would make a playground fun, safe and accessible, and explain the thinking behind their designs through presenting to their peers. It was wonderful to see creativity, critical thinking, student voice, teamwork and design thinking all coming together. πŸŒΏπŸ›

We also began composing our own information reports, learning how to turn our ideas and knowledge into organised, informative writing. Students were thinking about their audience, learning about relevant information, organising their ideas and beginning to use the features of an information report to communicate clearly. βœοΈπŸ“–

There was plenty of discussion, laughter, persistence, creative thinking and a few moments of β€œHmmmm… maybe that wasn’t such a good idea!” πŸ˜‚

What I loved most was seeing our students working together across K–6, listening to each other, sharing their strengths and discovering just how much they can achieve when everyone has a voice.

A pretty special day at Hampton Public School! 🌿✨
