Self-care looks different for every child, and for many neurodiverse children, even everyday hygiene can feel overwhelming.
Brushing teeth, having a shower, or getting dressed isn’t always simple. Sensory sensitivities, anxiety, and executive functioning challenges can all make self-care feel overwhelming, unpredictable, or distressing. But with the right support, these moments can become powerful steps toward independence.
