🐝 We’ve been buzzing with excitement at kinder! 🍯
Our little learners were lucky enough to welcome Holly from Holly’s Backyard Bees for a very special bee incursion — and what a buzz it was!
Holly brought along her small hive, home to around 2,000–3,000 busy little bees, and the children got to discover what life is really like inside a hive. 🐝
We learnt about the Queen Bee 👑, the busy worker bees, how bees collect nectar and pollen, and the amazing process of turning nectar into honey. We even discovered that without bees, we wouldn’t have many of the delicious foods we love — including strawberries, watermelon, apples, oranges and even chocolate! 🍓🍉🍎🍫
The children also got to step into the shoes of a beekeeper, trying on protective veils, exploring a hive and learning how a smoker helps keep bees calm. And, of course, there was the very important job of tasting honey! 🍯😋
Most importantly, the children learnt how we can help our buzzing friends — planting flowers, providing shallow water and keeping harmful sprays away from our gardens. 🌼💧
A wonderful morning of hands-on learning, big questions, brave little beekeepers and lots of BEE-utiful discoveries! 🐝💛
