In the past decade, more than half of all children aged 0-4 who drowned in Australia lost their lives in a backyard swimming pool.

Home pool fencing and effective supervision can reduce these tragic drowning deaths to zero.

Royal Life Saving is targeting every home pool owner with a basic reminder to check, fix and maintain their home pool and surrounds this spring in order to eliminate child drowning.

So today marks 200 days of official lockdowns in Victoria

I think we as an industry have been well led, been proactive in our approaches to government, been extremely positive in our outlook, have assisted each other in so many ways and above all have shown tremendous resilience. Being so close to having the country fully vaccinated yet so far away and lockdown uncertainty will be hard but we are not far away from being able to open again and do what we do best- bring swimming and water safety to hundreds of thousands of kids around Australia. Hang in there everyone.
