The events of this week (Christmas Tree-gate 2015!) have shown us that we have a vocal and passionate community. A community that has a voice and wants to be heard!

We want to know what you think:

•What are the essential services that Council should deliver? What services should be optional for Councils to deliver?

•Does your council represent the make up of your local community? How can we ensure fair representation of able people at council, including women and people from different cultural backgrounds and ages?

•When should your council be required to engage and consult with their community? Is giving notice through a local newspaper or through the council website sufficient?

Should councils be allowed to spend money on civic art? What sorts of things shouldn't councils be allowed to buy?

Tell us your thoughts below, or jump onto www.oursay.org/sthgrampians to join in the conversation

Congratulations to Harcourt Orchardist Katie Finlay on winning RIRDC Rural Women's Award - with some great insights on how producers can change the way they approach their marketing and supply chain challenges.
