TRAINER SPOTLIGHT: PAUL ‘GRIZZ’ KNAAP🌟

If you’ve trained with Grizz, you’ll know he’s never short of a story! But there’s usually a pretty good lesson behind it.

After 30+ years of experience in the Traffic and Construction industries, he knows the moments that stick aren’t always the ones in the workbook. It’s the real examples, the near misses and those “light bulb” moments when everything suddenly clicks.

Or, as Grizz puts it:
“The training material can be like dried Weet-Bix. Industry examples and knowledge add the milk and sugar.”🥛

A career change starts with one decision: giving something new a go!

That’s exactly what this group of women did through the Build Her Program. It was a privilege for our South Australian team to be part of it alongside Melissa Tilley and the APM Employment Services team in Adelaide North.

Over the course of the training, we watched confidence grow. New skills clicked. Questions turned into conversations about what's next. By the end of the program, these women weren't just walking away with an accreditation, they were walking towards new opportunities in an industry that needs great people. 🚧👷‍♀️

A huge thank you to our guest speakers, Emma from Prime Traffic Solutions, Samantha from Makesafe Traffic Management SA and Dani from FlowSafe Traffic Solutions, who generously shared their own experiences working in traffic management.
Hearing directly from women already thriving in the industry gave our participants an honest look at what's possible and showed that there are real careers waiting on the other side of training.

This morning, our team had the privilege of attending the NAIDOC Week Morning Tea hosted by WISE Employment in Werribee.

We began with a powerful Smoking Ceremony, taking a moment to pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of the land.

This year's NAIDOC Week theme, 50 Years of Deadly, celebrates five decades of strength, pride, resilience and the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

It was inspiring to connect with so many passionate employment providers and partners, all sharing the same goal of creating opportunities and building brighter futures for the people and communities we support.
