Scrap Happy on a rainy day! From a pile of purple and scrap wadding to gorgeous blocks. Destined for Project Linus quilts. My friends at Robin’s Roses have been busy making rainbows of blocks this summer trying to convert the treasure which is scraps.

After a big family Christmas I have made it back into the quilting studio to make and quilt something special for a wonderful family member having a BIG Birthday. I used my freehand Leaves and Swirls in the sashes and borders.
Get in touch with me to finish your quilt, many freehand and computerised options available at reasonable costs.
Have a Happy New Year.

We had our Gympie Rotary Quilt and Rare Crafts Show this weekend and my Bee Mindful Quilt, designed by gained a 2nd Prize in the Professional Appliqué class. I was slightly stunned and very excited. What a great weekend! Our Project Linus group, Robin’s Roses, had a very busy stall and there were so many people there Saturday despite the stifling heat.

I am so proud of myself for finishing this. I had thought I might hand sew the appliqué but I quickly converted to machine. I am so grateful to for designing this Beeutiful and to Patchwork by the Sea for the BOM and kit. I have free-motion quilted it with a leafy tendril design and it is destined for our bedroom after our local quilt show later this month.

One of our daughters commissioned a charcoal drawing of her childhood home, where I live with her dad. has done a wonderful job of capturing the home from a photo taken many years ago. Some things have changed but the essence of our country home is all there. Thanks . PS, behind all this windows at the front is my sewing room.

Recently I had the privilege of quilting this When you Wish quilt for Bonjour Quilts. Pop over to her blog post https://www.bonjourquilts.com/when-you-wish-multi-size-quilt-pattern/ for lots to read about her recent patterns and variations. She is so creative about using her stash and scraps.

I love freehanding on unique appliqué quilts like this Caravan Quilt. I’ve mixed it up a bit here.
