WHAT’S IT GONNA TAKE?

I’ve spent so much of my life believing I was destined to fail because nothing I could ever do would be good enough.

I’ve sabotaged opportunities and held myself back from sharing my art with others.

I’ve got volumes of unfinished songs clamped tight in journals, destined for nothing because I judged them prematurely,“too sad, too self-indulgent, not imaginative enough…”

etcetera.

Time and time again I’ve had to squeeze myself out of doubt’s boa-constrictor hold. I’ve become familiar with its stories…you know the ones? “there’s no time, it’s not important, I’ll do it later”
etcetera
etcetera

etcetera.

So when people tell me, “I’d love to join the Songwriter’s Circle but I just can’t justify the time or money right now”, I feel a familiar fire in me rising, the one that’s been growing all these years, burning through every self-imposed restriction, every fear and every doubt, so that I can keep showing up to the page and making honest art.

I feel that fire because I KNOW it’s not about the money or the time or the (inset benign excuse here). The fire in me recognises that there are songs in you waiting to be written.
I know that songs are an essential elixir for the spirit. They offer a place to set down your truth. They are a key to unlocking all the doors you’ve closed inside your heart.

I want to shake your excuses loose, blow on the embers of your songwriter spirit and remind you that THIS IS IMPORTANT.

Because it is.

So what’s it gonna take? Will 2025 be the year that you give yourself space and the grace to write the songs that need to be written?

I’m excited to invite you to the first instalment of my monthly ceremony x workshop series, Grounded Sound, on Wednesday July 13th @ 7:30 - 9:30am.

This is ceremony and remembering - a space to come back to presence and explore ourselves as instruments of creation. It’s for those who feel the call to unleash their voices into the space beyond themselves.

This is stretching into the fullest expression of our authentic selves; playing at the edges of comfort and connecting to something bigger than our fear.
