A Message from Labella Equestrian

At Labella Equestrian, our horses have always been, and always will be, at the heart of everything we do.

On Thursday, one of our much-loved lesson horses experienced a serious colic episode. Thankfully, they are now recovering well, but it gave us the opportunity to stop, reflect and ask ourselves an important question...

Are we doing enough for the horses that give so much to us?

After a great deal of thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to significantly reduce the workload of our lesson horses. Moving forward, our lesson program will operate with fewer horses in work, ensuring that one horse is always resting and receiving the recovery time they deserve.

As a result, we’ll also be reducing the number of lessons we offer each week.

This has meant making some incredibly difficult decisions, including saying goodbye to valued clients. These decisions have been heartbreaking, but we firmly believe they are the right ones for the long-term health and wellbeing of our horses.

Our lesson horses are far more than just horses that carry riders—they are teachers, confidence builders, trusted friends and cherished members of the Labella family. Every smile, achievement and milestone our riders experience is because of their patience, generosity and willingness to give their all.

Now it’s our turn to give something back.

Thank you to our wonderful clients for your understanding, kindness and ongoing support as we navigate these changes together. Your compassion for our horses is one of the many reasons we’re so proud of the community we’ve built.

This marks the beginning of a new chapter for Labella Equestrian—one built on sustainability, quality and, above all else, putting our horses first.

Every bodywork session begins with a thorough assessment, because no two horses move, perform or feel the same.

As a qualified Equine Sports Massage Therapist through Equisstricare and a proud ETAA member, I take the time to assess your horse’s muscles, movement and overall comfort before developing an individual treatment plan.

Each session is tailored to your horse’s needs and may include:
• Comprehensive muscular assessment
• Equine sports massage
• Equissage cycloidal vibration therapy
• Therapeutic stretching
• Personalised recommendations to support your horse between appointments

Whether your horse is competing, returning to work, recovering from increased workloads or simply due for routine maintenance, equine bodywork can play an important role in supporting comfort, mobility and overall wellbeing.

It’s always fun and games during our school holiday period. We love to get creative with our riding activities. During the April school holidays we played:
- Water my plants
- Escape the tangled garden
- Egg and spoon race
- And finally, find the rabbit

Unfortunately, Kylie has fractured her foot and will be taking some time to recover. While this has meant a few changes behind the scenes, we want to sincerely thank all of our wonderful clients for your patience, understanding, and flexibility during this time.

Our team is working hard to ensure every rider continues to receive the best possible experience, and we truly appreciate your support as we navigate the coming weeks together.
