Hey everyone out there
Wow where do I start ?
I guess where I tell everyone
“ the beginning “
This little story to me is just so amazing
A few months ago I was contacted to help with a float loading issue in north brissy
This poor little fella had been on trucks a couple of times
He was purchased by my lovely clients
To load him on the float the previous owners cattle prodded him in to the float
He was dropped off
That was that
Just imagine the trauma and anxiety this poor little thing had with floating
I was contacted after the new owners hadn’t been able to load him for 5 years
Yes 5 years this young girl walked this horse kilometres through traffic
Just to get to pony club

My first visit it was evadent how petrified he was
So my job was to build his confidence
Did my usual ground work
Teaching him to move forward with the tap of my float stick to the hip
Then stop and back up with release of pressure to the hip
He went so good and tried so hard
First session had his head in two feet in and head on with his head down and relaxed
The head down is so important
Quit on that
Know when to quit people
Second session he was all but I’m just sticking
So I did something I don’t normally do
Set up a bum rope as an aid
Had my clients dad control that
Not as a push or pull but just as a reminder that forward is the best option
He went straight in
He was very twitchy and nervous in there
We spent a lot of time in there rubbing him and making in the float a nice place
After that session my lovely young client was loading him herself
She did an amazing job and followed my instructions to a tee
He was locked in with no issues
Then it was time to travel him unload away from home
Reload then back home unload and reload
The photos of him back home after being travelled unloaded reloaded
He was so relaxed
Did not run out
He waited for my clients instructions and listened the stick on his hip
Stick up ask step back
Stick down
Horses stops lift stick ask back horse takes another step
Etc etc
Tap hip and kiss up horse goes forward

So very proud of these two
Such a wonderful outcome considering where they started
Absolutely love my job

Just a quick update
Back in north Brissy Sunny coast
Has been chaotically busy
Tuesday/ Wednesday
Carbrook /Tamborine it’s your turn
Then following week will be Toowoomba region
Then will be Gympie to Bundy region

So tomorrow after a good old rest up
Reckon I might just do what I absolutely love and
Crank up the white wingless jet and
Keep
“Travelling the country and delivering a different’

Happy and safe trails everyone
Cheers

Hey everyone out there
Well back on the road
The couple of photos of a little mare giving me some loveing was back in Burpengary
I started that mare about 5 years ago
She would not leave me alone
This is very unusual for me to let this happen
Safety of course but the horse I was treating was so cool so i let it slide
The photos of the dozing mob was at Faraway
Just north of Susan River Maryborough/ Hervey Bay
I was treating a horse
All this mob in the beginning were very animated
Charging and fighting etc
Then they all stopped and dozed
It was a cool gloomy morning
But to observe the dynamic of this herd was just incredible
I learnt so much from it
I say to people all the time
Don’t just be with your horses
Don’t just hang out
Ride
Ground work etc
What ever you do
Just be more observant
Be an observatory
Don’t just see them
Don’t just look at them
Observe them
Get to know them
What they normally do
There little habits etc
That way when their behaviour is not normal you know to investigate
It maybe nothing but then it could be serious
Be an observatory

Currently in Rocky
Heading back down the coast from Friday
Specialist appointment on Monday at Schu
Heap of local work
Then we will be back to finish up in Bundy then Monto Bilo Emerald
The white wingless jet got its service at Apple Tree crk on Tuesday
So the plan is
To get in a good kip tonight
Then tomorrow
Crank up the white wingless let and
Keep
“Travelling the country and delivering a difference “

Happy and safe trails everyone
Cheers
