✨ Stories were flying off the pages at Great Beginnings Cloverdale this Book Week!

Each morning, the children arrived to find their favourite storybook characters soaring through our magical foyer display. They loved dressing up as beloved characters, sharing special books from home and enjoying Book Week-inspired meals with their friends. There was a new adventure waiting around every corner.

It was wonderful to see the children step into their favourite stories, share their love of books and let their imaginations soar.

Congratulations to our wonderful Educational Leader and Early Childhood Teacher, Kiera for becoming a published author in the Early Childhood Australia magazine where she shares our teams inquiry project to improve our documentation processes for assessment of children's learning. Such an incredible achievement, we're so proud!

Last week we had some wonderful parent volunteers come in on 'Thank a First Responders day' to speak to the children all about their role as SES first responders. They started with a presentation showing the children photos of real life community events and rescues on our interactive whiteboard. They brought in high vis vests and helmets for the children to try on along with miniture chainsaws where the children could role play chopping up fallen trees, We went outside to explore the SES vehicle, getting to take turns in the passenger seat, to turn the lights on and inspect their many tools and gadgets.

This week, Cady heads off to Brisbane for the annual Early Childhood Australia conference for a very special presentation by our very own, Kiera! This presentation will be all about play pedagogies and assessment which is such a wonderful opportunity for her. We're so proud!

Last week we had our annual rainbow week! The children and educators dressed in the different colours and ended the week with a rainbow day. It was great to see all of the children talk about their matching coloured outfits all week 🌈

Today the local hardware store is closing after many years of operation. In March when they announced the closure, our preschool children came up with the idea to bake them some cupcakes and make them a card. Our educators delivered the cupcakes to the staff and thanked them for helping us with tools, fixing things and even an excursion over the years!
