Happy Feet Thursdays are our favourite kind of Thursdays 👣🦖
Today’s session had a dinosaur twist as the children stomped, jumped and moved their bodies through a range of fun dinosaur-themed activities. Through movement, music and games, the children were able to build on their coordination, balance and gross motor skills while having so much fun with their peers 🌋✨

Exploring the galaxy through sensory play! 🚀🌌

This week, the children enjoyed a space-themed sensory tray filled with oats, lentils, rice, foil, glitter and more. They scooped, poured, mixed, explored textures and used their imaginations to create their own planets and galaxies ⭐️🪐✨

Big energy and even bigger smiles. Our little legends had an awesome sports session with Coach G from taking part in fun activities like egg and spoon races to build balance and focus, bean bag throwing to develop aim and coordination, and ring toss games to improve accuracy and control. They also got involved in some running games to keep the energy high. Through all of this, they’re building key skills like coordination, focus, patience, confidence, and teamwork — all while having a great time. Learning through movement really is the best kind of learning.

As part of our Harmony Week celebrations, our friend proudly shared her cultural costume along with a photo of her attending the Burwood Lunar New Year Festival. During group time, the educator showed the photo to her peers, sparking a meaningful discussion about what Lunar New Year is and how it is celebrated. This experience helped foster cultural awareness, curiosity, and respect for diversity within our learning community.

Today we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day the best way we know how—through play, creativity, and a whole lot of green.🍀💚

The children explored the day through hands-on activities:
✨ Dressing up in green to build a sense of belonging and fun
✨ Colouring wooden rainbows to spark creativity and imagination
✨ Threading green loose parts to strengthen fine motor skills and focus
✨ Dot painting clover leaves to develop coordination and control
✨ Fork stamping leprechaun faces for sensory exploration and artistic expression
✨ Painting recycled leprechaun hats while learning the value of sustainability

These experiences aren’t just fun—they support early development by encouraging creativity, improving fine motor skills, building concentration, and promoting self-expression. Through themed play, children also begin to understand cultural celebrations and connect with the world around them.
