👕🎨 Ink, laughs and a one-of-a-kind keepsake! 🎨👕

One of the highlights of camp was our screen-printing session, where every student created their very own Hunter Super Nova Camp shirt to take home as a souvenir.

Of course, it wouldn’t be camp without a little creative chaos!

There was ink on shirts, ink on hands, ink on elbows… and at one point we’re fairly sure someone almost screen-printed their sleeve to the table! 😂

The results? A collection of proudly worn “limited edition” camp shirts.

Every splash of ink tells the story of new friendships, shared experiences and memories made at Hunter Super Nova Camp.

We think they look amazing… and we hope you do too! 💙✨

🌊🏹 Adventure, laughter and lifelong memories! 🌿😊

Camp isn’t just about what students learn in their elective—it’s also about challenging themselves, building confidence and creating friendships that will last long after the bags are unpacked.

Our campers embraced every moment of adventure! From kayaking across the lake and taking the leap with jetty jumping, to navigating the bush during rogaining and putting their focus and determination to the test with archery, there was excitement around every corner.

The smiles were contagious, the laughter echoed across the camp, and every activity brought new opportunities to encourage one another, step outside comfort zones and celebrate personal achievements.

One of the greatest things about Hunter Super Nova Camp isn’t just the activities—it’s the friendships that are formed.

Watching students from schools across the Hunter Region connect with like-minded peers, support each other and share so many laughs has been truly a camp to remember. 💙🌟

🏛️ 💻 ICT was all about “AI and Time” – creativity meets circuits and bridges! 🌉

Students worked in pairs/small groups to create short podcasts or videos using WeVideo, iPads, microphones and green screens. They developed skills in combining audio, video, images, text and transitions to bring their ideas to life.

They also explored circuits, starting with simple builds before moving into hands-on, choice-based challenges. The 2026 camp theme of ‘Time’ featured in the timed switch activity and the Wire Loop Game Challenge, testing both speed and precision under pressure.

On the last day our campers also explored the engineering design process by identifying design opportunities, researching and planning, producing and implementing solutions, and finally testing and evaluating their designs. They investigated how different bridge structures work, learning about compression, tension and live loads, and compared the strengths of truss bridges, arch bridges and tower bridges before putting their knowledge into practice through exciting design challenges.

It was a brilliant day of collaboration, creativity and critical thinking, with our students learning alongside inspiring high school mentors. A huge thank you to the wonderful students and staff from Whitebridge High School for sharing their expertise and making engineering come alive!

The past came to life in the History elective! 🗺️📜

Our young historians discovered that history isn’t just about memorising dates – it’s about investigating evidence and developing interpretations of the past.

The day began with the mystery of Grandfather’s Suitcase, where students carefully examined a collection of intriguing objects, piecing together clues like real historians to uncover stories from the past.

They then stepped back to Ancient Egypt, learning about the important role of Egyptian scribes and even trying their hand at understanding how these remarkable record keepers helped shape one of the world’s greatest civilisations.

The challenge continued with a thrilling history-themed escape room, where teamwork, problem-solving and historical knowledge were the keys to breaking free. (Let’s just say a few ancient secrets were harder to crack than a pharaoh’s tomb! 😉)

To finish the camp, students investigated the fascinating story of Hunter Street, exploring how one place has changed across multiple time periods and discovering that every street has a story waiting to be told.

Who knew the past could be this much fun? Our historians certainly proved that history is anything but ancient! 📖✨

🎨 Creativity was in full bloom at camp! 🌿✨

Our visual arts students immersed themselves in the surreal world of Salvador Dalí, exploring his unique style and imaginative techniques to create their own expressive self-portraits. From melting clocks to dreamlike details, they pushed the boundaries of their creativity and discovered new ways to see themselves through an artistic lens.

They also stepped outdoors to draw inspiration from the natural environment, creating stunning artworks influenced by the practices of John Wolseley and Sophie Chauncy. Using leaves, textures, landscapes and natural materials, students captured the beauty of the world around them in thoughtful and experimental ways.

It was a vibrant experience of exploration, imagination and artistic growth, with students embracing new ideas and expressing themselves with confidence and originality.

A huge thank you to our amazing teachers for guiding such an inspiring creative experience.

What a masterpiece of an experience ! 🎨🌿💫

🐝 Big Buzz was buzzing with excitement! 🍯

Our Big Buzz students enjoyed an unforgettable time at camp immersed in the fascinating world of bees, especially during their visit to a local apiary.

They discovered the incredible role bees play in our environment, learnt about the inner workings of a beehive, watched the amazing process of spinning fresh honey from the honeycomb, and even created their own beeswax body balm to take home.

It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that combined science, sustainability and creativity. The students asked thoughtful questions, embraced every opportunity to learn and came away with a new appreciation for these tiny but mighty pollinators.

A huge thank you to The Humble Hive Collective for sharing their knowledge and passion with our students. It was certainly an experience to bee remembered! 🐝💛🍯

Our Maths Elective certainly kept their brains busy at Hunter Super Nova Camp! 🧠➕➗

Our young mathematicians tackled algebra, stretched their thinking with some seriously tricky problem-solving challenges, and explored the fascinating world of Fibonacci numbers. Safe to say there were plenty of “Aha!” moments… and maybe a few adults quietly pretending they remembered Year 10 maths! 😅

It was incredible to watch our students persevere, collaborate and think creatively as they searched for patterns, justified their reasoning and proved just how powerful mathematical thinking can be.

Who knew numbers could be this much fun? Although we’re still waiting for someone to explain why there isn’t a Fibonacci sequence for the queue at dessert! 🍰😂

Well done to our brilliant Maths students and tutors for another inspiring day of learning! 🔢✨

🧪💥 Boom! Bang! Bonds! 🔬🧬

Today our campers stepped into the lab and explored the wild world of chemical reactions and carbon bonds! From bubbling mixtures to colourful changes, they saw science in action — and learned how tiny atoms make a BIG difference. ⚛️🔥

There were gasps, giggles, and a few “whoa, that’s cool!” moments as they discovered how molecules connect, break apart, and react in surprising ways.

Science isn’t just smart — it’s seriously fun!
