On Wednesday, 5th August, our school celebrated Public Education Week 2026 in fantastic style. Together with our Small School's Alliance - Bald Blair, Chandler and Ebor Public Schools, we enjoyed such a broad range of inspiring, creative arts experiences. From Yayoi Kasama-inspired sculptures with Mrs Lord, game development with Mr Dave Eddy from Festival of Delusion, dance workshops with the Lyambay Dancers from Armidale Secondary College, to sketching upside down with Ms Annie Minton from the Armidale Art Gallery, everyone certainly experienced the creative arts with flair! The day was also celebrated with a visit and performance from the Back Track Team and of course our favourite four-legged friends, the dogs! What a performance, and, of course Whisky was the absolute star of the show!! We'd like to thank our very special guests who shared their skills and passion for the creative arts. Thanks also to Mr Ian Reeves, Director, Public Education, for joining us for the day and Mr Greg Mills, for his support of our small schools. Thanks so very much to our wonderful P & C who catered on the day. Congratulations to Clayton Peltonen, Mr Harris-Steel, Mrs Reeve and Mr Wilson. Your achievements, dedication to learning and teaching and the support of our school are so very much appreciated.

As we gathered yesterday with the Guyra Community for this year's ANZAC service, we commemorated all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. We also paid our respect to all men and women who serve to ensure we continue to enjoy the freedoms we have today. Thank you to all our parents and friends for marching and commemorating with us. Lest We Forget.
