🌏🏉 Three Gundagai High School Students Take Rugby League to the World Stage! 🏉🌏
Gundagai High School is incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of three of our students who have been selected to represent the Australian Wanderers Rugby League teams on an exciting international tour to London and Paris!
Billy Sadler has been selected as a member of the Australian Wanderers Under 13/14 Boys team, while Deanna Smith and Evie Jones have both been selected in the Australian Wanderers Under 18 Girls team.
As part of this incredible opportunity, the teams will travel to London and Paris, where they will compete against four to five teams, representing the Australian Wanderers and showcasing their rugby league skills on the international stage.
For Deanna and Evie, the adventure will begin even earlier, with the girls spending two weeks travelling through France, Switzerland and Italy with their families before the rugby league competition gets underway. This will be an amazing opportunity for them to experience different cultures, visit some incredible places and create memories that will last a lifetime before taking to the field in London and Paris.
Adding an extra challenge to this incredible experience, Deanna will need to return home early from the tour to sit her HSC examinations. Her commitment to balancing her academic responsibilities with the opportunity to represent the Australian Wanderers internationally is a fantastic achievement and something to be admired.
We are incredibly proud of Billy, Deanna and Evie and the dedication, commitment and talent they have demonstrated to earn their place in these teams.
This is much more than a rugby league tour — it is an opportunity to travel, experience new cultures, compete against international teams, make lifelong friendships and represent Australia in a sport they love.
Congratulations Billy, Deanna and Evie! 👏🇦🇺🏉
We wish you all the very best for your upcoming adventure and can't wait to follow your journey from Australia to Europe and onto the international rugby league stage!
What an incredible achievement — we are so proud of you! 💙🏉🌏

💛 R U OK? Day at Gundagai High School 💛

Today we celebrated R U OK? Day at Gundagai High School with a fun morning focused on the importance of checking in with one another and reminding our students that a simple “Are you OK?” can make a big difference.

Our students got involved by adding their handprints to our R U OK? sign, creating a wonderful display to remind everyone that we are all connected and that it’s important to look out for each other.

And, of course, no school event is complete without some delicious pancakes for morning tea!

A huge thank you to Kelly-Ann and Elyse for organising such a fun and meaningful event for our students. We appreciate the time and effort you put into making the day special!

Remember — R U OK? 💛
Sometimes, a simple question can start an important conversation.

Today, our Year 11 & 12 Business Studies and Year 11 Work Studies students had the opportunity to hear from Cat Reid, owner of Tumut Domino’s, and Dan Evans about their career journeys and experiences in business.
Cat and Dan shared how they progressed through the Domino’s franchise to become business owners, as well as the leadership, communication, teamwork and resilience skills that have helped them along the way.
It was fantastic for our students to hear real-world stories and connect their classroom learning with the world of business and work.
A huge thank you to Cat and Dan for volunteering their time and inspiring our students!

National Skills Week
Yesterday a group of Year 11 students attended the Try a Trade and Employment Expo in Wagga Wagga.
The expo was a chance for students to meet local employers, explore a range of industries and immerse themselves in the interactive exhibitions.
With exhibitors from a wide range of industries, there was something for all students to engage with. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, find out more about job opportunities in the local community and identify potential workplaces for future work experience.
As one of the biggest expos in the Wagga region promoting apprenticeships, traineeships and entry-level employment, it is a very worthwhile event for our stduents as they begin to think about future pathways.
A huge thank you to Stacey Suidgeest from Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) for organsing this amazing event, and for coordinating many industry based programs and events for our students.

National Skills Week: Learning by Doing!

National Skills Week celebrates the skills, people and pathways that help shape careers, strengthen communities and support the future workforce. At Gundagai High School, we’re proud to provide our students with hands-on learning and vocational opportunities that prepare them for successful futures. This National Skills Week, we celebrate the huge range of opportunities available to our students at Gundagai High School to develop practical skills, explore career pathways and prepare for the world of work.
Through VET courses at school, EVET courses through TAFE, VET Tasters, Made for a Trade, Girls Can Too, White Card training, Forestry Immersion programs, YES programs, Industry workshops, Careers and Trades Expos, Work Experience and much more, students can get a taste of different pathways and discover where their interests and skills could lead. These opportunities go beyond earning qualifications — they empower our students to identify their strengths, boost their confidence, and develop practical skills and knowledge that support their journey into further education, training, or employment.
At Gundagai High School, our students have access to a wide range of opportunities to allow them to explore interests, passions and try out career pathways that they may never have considered before. We are committed to helping our students explore every pathway to success — including practical learning experiences, vocational education, apprenticeships, traineeships, and strong partnerships with local industry.
