NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK // Students had the opportunity during break times this week to put their science skills to the test through fun and hands on Seed Dispersal and Parachute Challenges run by our Innovation & Curriculum Support Team.
Prep to Year 2 students explored how some seeds are designed to travel through the air before testing their own paper helicopter seeds and observing how they spun and floated to the ground. Years 3 to 6 students took on the parachute challenge, creating and testing their own parachute designs and investigating how air resistance affected their descent.
Along the way, students explored forces, air resistance, measurement and design, all while having fun learning through experimentation
A fantastic way to celebrate National Science Week 2026!

YEAR 1 LONE PINE EXCURSION // Our Year 1 students had a wonderful day exploring Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
The excursion brought their classroom learning to life as students observed and learnt about Australian animals as part of their English unit. Students also explored living and non-living things in Science, as well as natural, managed and constructed environments in HASS.
Students enjoyed educational talks, animal encounters and the opportunity to feed the kangaroos.
A wonderful day of learning, discovery and animal encounters!
