π§ Exploring Capacity Through Hands-On Learning! πͺ£
Our Year 3/4 students have been developing their understanding of capacity and volume through an engaging outdoor, hands-on investigation.
Using water and a variety of containers, students explored how to estimate, measure, compare and record amounts. They challenged themselves to represent the same quantity in different ways and discussed how the size and shape of a container can influence our perception of capacity.
This practical learning experience encouraged students to make predictions, test their ideas, use mathematical language and refine their thinking based on what they observed.
It was wonderful to see our students collaborating, problem-solving and applying their mathematical understanding in a fun and meaningful outdoor environment! πΏπ§π
