Today the preschool children enjoyed a wonderful adventure around Gulgong while “running errands” for the centre ✏️📋

Preschool Room Learning ✏️ 🍎

During Term 1, the preschool children focused on learning key letters and sounds, along with developing number recognition for numbers 1–5. As well as begun to learn sign language. The children explored early literacy and numeracy concepts in fun and engaging ways.

In Term 2, the preschoolers have continued extending their knowledge through our PreLit program and Shared Story Reading program. Learning additional letters and sounds, syllables, and concepts of spoken and written words. As well as further developing their understanding of numbers 1–10. The children have also been strengthening important skills such as fine motor development, cutting skills, and problem-solving.

Alongside our intentional learning experiences, and school readiness group time, the children continue to enjoy plenty of free play and spontaneous activities each day. These experiences encourage creativity, social connections, imagination, and child-led learning opportunities that support the children’s overall development 💛

This week in our Baby & Toddler Room, we have been exploring colours and shapes through hands-on play and learning experiences 🌈🔺

The children have been busy sorting, stacking, matching, painting, and building while developing important early learning skills. These activities help support-

✨ Fine motor development
✨ Hand-eye coordination
✨ Problem-solving skills
✨ Language and communication
✨ Confidence through play-based learning
