🌟 SASS Recognition Week! 🌟
This week, we celebrate our incredible School Administrative and Support Staff — our SLSOs, office staff and General Assistant, who are such an important part of the heart of our school.
They are the helping hands, patient hearts and familiar faces who are there for our students, staff and families every single day. They encourage, comfort, celebrate, support and always find a way to make a difference. So much of what they do may happen quietly and behind the scenes, but the difference they make is felt every single day.
Our school simply wouldn’t be the same without them.
To our wonderful SASS staff, we hope you know just how valued, appreciated and loved you are and how grateful we are for everything you do 💛

💜 Bullying No Way Week 2026 – Small Acts, Big Impact
This week, students across our school took part in Bullying No Way Week, exploring how even the smallest words and actions can make a big difference in the lives of others.
Students learnt about bullying and the important role we can all play in preventing it. They participated in kindness challenges, discussed ways to include and support others, explored how to safely speak up and learnt the importance of pausing and thinking before speaking, texting or posting online.
We finished the week by reflecting together on the small actions every one of us can take to help make our classrooms, playgrounds and school a place where everyone feels safe, respected and included.

📚✨ Book Week Dress Up Day 2026! ✨📚
Today Guildford West came alive with characters from some of our favourite books! From superheroes and storybook classics to much-loved favourites, our students and staff looked amazing.
A fantastic way to celebrate Book Week and this year’s theme, Symphony of Stories! Thank you to our families for helping bring our favourite stories to life! 💛

👩‍🍳🍴What’s cooking at Guildford West?
Step inside our school kitchen and see our students in action! Each week, students roll up their sleeves and get hands-on as they measure, chop, mix, pour and follow recipes to create something delicious.
There’s so much learning happening along the way! Students build independence, practise maths and literacy skills, explore different ingredients and develop teamwork and communication.
Here’s a glimpse into our school kitchen this week as our chefs in S2 Ningaloo get cooking!

Braids for our Dance Girls! ✨
There was plenty of braiding happening at Guildford West today, with students getting behind a special fundraiser for our dancers!
A huge thank you to our wonderful student helpers, parents and staff who lent a hand with the braiding and helped make the fundraiser such a success!

📚 Book Week is coming up! 📚
Book Character Dress Up Day is Thursday 20 August. Students are invited to dress as their favourite book character. We can’t wait to see all our favourite characters coming to life at Guildford West!
The celebrations begin with our annual Scholastic Book Fair, running from Thursday 13 August to Tuesday 18 August. Students can purchase books during their library time, or families can visit the Book Fair from 3:00–4:00pm.
Our annual Book Week activities will run from 17–21 August, including our poster competition inspired by this year’s theme, Symphony of Stories. 📖✨
