LITTLE DREAMERS FUNDRAISER 💙

What an incredible day! Our Year 12 students went all out for the Little Dreamers fundraiser, raising over $2,000 and exceeding our target! 🎉

From the lunchtime sausage sizzle to the Staff vs Students mini games, there was plenty of fun, laughter and friendly competition.

A highlight was the three-legged race against the Year 11 students, where, after an initial struggle, Mr Skewes and Mr Bray finished in epic style, sprinting from 3rd to 1st! 🏃‍♂️🏆

A huge thank you to all students, staff, families, community members and generous donor companies for making the day such a success. We greatly appreciate all the generous donations.

COURSE INFORMATION NIGHT 🎓

What a fantastic evening of learning, connection and future planning.

Students and families had the opportunity to chat with teachers, explore subjects and discover pathways that match their interests and goals. 🌟

Our students heard from staff about life as a senior secondary student and the exciting transition into VCE. 💬

We were also thrilled to welcome representatives from universities, TAFE and employment providers, who shared valuable insights into future opportunities.

STATE CROSS COUNTRY

We’re incredibly proud of the eight students who represented the College at the Victorian State Cross Country Championships at the Yarra Valley Racing Club last month. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

🌟 Every runner finished in the top 1% of their age group across Victoria, with all eight placing in the top 50 – what an achievement! 👏🏼

A special congratulations to Year 12 students Emily and Lucia, who qualified for the State Championships every year of their secondary schooling – six years in a row! 🎉

Well done to all eight runners. Your support and encouragement for one another was genuine, and you did yourselves and the College proud.

A huge thank you to our families and supporters who travelled to cheer you on. 💙

YEAR 12 INTERVIEWS 🎓

Students in Year 12 recently met with a member of the College Leadership Team to reflect on their future pathways and identify the study habits that will help them achieve their goals. 🌟

Using their practice exam results, teacher feedback, VTAC information and other resources, students worked backwards from their desired 2027 pathway to create a clear and achievable study plan. They then broke this down into specific revision tasks for the week ahead. 📚📝✅

The plans are in place—now it's all about staying consistent. Keep putting in the effort, and the results will follow! ✨

COMBINED BAND SPECTACULAR! 🎶

Our Grovedale College Concert Band recently joined students from Kardinia International College, Covenant College and Belmont High School for an unforgettable Combined Band Spectacular! 🎺🎷🥁

Following afternoon workshops with guest conductor Sue Arney, more than 130 talented musicians took to the stage for an incredible evening concert at Covenant College. It was a fantastic celebration of teamwork, talent and the joy of making music together.🎼

Featuring songs from Annie, Footloose, Wicked and Mean Girls, this original musical follows Detective Rollins and Agent Forte as they race to save Musical Land from the Phantom of the Opera's sinister plan. When the bitter Phantom sets out to silence Musical Land forever, chaos erupts, stories begin to unravel, and key props mysteriously disappear.
Can they stop the Phantom before the final curtain falls and save the magic of musical theatre?

Last week, our Year 7 and 8 students enjoyed the engaging Verbal Combat performance by Brainstorm Productions. 🎭

Through humour, relatable characters and interactive storytelling, students explored the importance of respectful relationships, resilience, positive communication, and making safe, responsible choices both online and offline. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

The performance encouraged thoughtful discussion about respect, responsibility, and bullying while reinforcing valuable skills that support student wellbeing and a positive school culture. 🌟

👏🏼 Thank you to Brainstorm Productions for delivering such an inspiring and impactful experience for our students!

This is a fantastic opportunity to explore subject options, speak with teachers and external providers, ask questions, and gather the information needed to make informed decisions about future pathways.
