Time for Tabouli!

Kindergarten students had a fantastic time transforming into little chefs during our recent science lesson! They explored how we use plants to meet our needs by preparing a delicious tabouli using fresh vegetables—and bravely tasted their creations. The fun didn’t stop there! Our budding scientists also learned how to turn cream into butter, then enjoyed spreading their homemade butter on some fresh bread. What a hands-on, tasty way to discover the wonders of food and science!

Echidna Explorations in 1/2K!

Our students have been learning how seasonal changes affect animal behaviour, focusing on echidnas and their amazing ability to hibernate and enter torpor. They created informative posters to share their findings and used forks to paint their own unique echidnas. The students enjoyed combining art with science to discover more about these incredible Australian animals!

A Wonderful Day of Music at Leeton!

What an incredible day for the Griffith East Band and Combined Griffith Schools Band at today’s Leeton Eisteddfod! Our talented musicians performed a wonderful range of pieces across 10 different sections, scoring highly and winning every section they entered! To top off an amazing day, they were also crowned Open Band Champions!

The Combined Griffith Schools Band is a collaboration, bringing together musicians from Griffith East Public School, Wade High School, Griffith High School, West Wyalong Public School and Marian Catholic College

A huge thank you to the Leeton Eisteddfod Society Inc for a brilliantly run event and to adjudicator Paul Jarman for his encouraging and valuable feedback. Congratulations also to the Leeton Town Band, who performed wonderfully throughout the day.

BULLYING NO WAY WEEK
Together, our small actions create BIG change!

As we wrap up Bullying No Way Week, we’re reminding our students that creating a safe, respectful and inclusive school is something we all play a part in.

A kind word, including others, speaking up, listening, helping a friend or telling a trusted adult – every small action adds up. When we all choose kindness and respect, together we can create big change!

Keep the conversation going at home:
Ask your child: What is one small action you can keep doing to make our school an even kinder place?

Small acts. Big impact. Better together.

Art, Books & a Whole Lot of Fun!

1/2K had a fabulous time creating beautiful artwork for the art show! Their creativity truly came to life, and their love of art shone through in every piece. The fun didn’t stop there! Our class dressed up for the Education/Book Week Parade, and didn’t they look amazing? Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating together.
What a fantastic week of learning, creativity and fun!

Weather Watchers!

This term, 2C have been having lots of fun learning all about weather in Science. Each day, we’ve been tracking and recording the temperature, observing the cloud cover and measuring rainfall.
While wet weather might not usually be a favourite for students or teachers, we’ve never been MORE excited for rain! After the downpour a couple of weekends ago, the whole class was buzzing as we raced to check the rain gauge on Monday morning and see just how much it had collected.

It’s safe to say our resident weather watchers are taking their job very seriously!

Fast, Fierce & Four Points Clear!

What a day for Griffith East at Monday’s Zone Athletics Carnival, with our athletes competing with determination, supporting one another and representing our school brilliantly across the track and field. A huge congratulations to Honor, who was crowned Junior Girl Champion after an outstanding day of competition!

Every point counted, with the efforts of our entire team seeing Griffith East claim the overall Zone Athletics trophy by just FOUR points! An incredible 27 GEPS athletes have also qualified for the Riverina Athletics Carnival in Albury. Congratulations to all our athletes on a fantastic team effort, and a huge thank you to our canteen staff and Year 6 helpers for helping make the day such a success.
