Jade's Memorial Flower Wall
Thursday 30 July 2026 | 7:45โ€“8:45 am
Front of the School
Our school community is warmly invited to join us in honouring the life of Mrs Jade Leverett by placing a flower on the memorial fence, leaving a message, or sharing a special memory. This will be an opportunity for past and present students, families, and staff to come together to celebrate Jade's life, reflect on the many lives she touched, and support one another.
In Jade's memory, the school will also be raising funds for Bezzina House Cancer Lodge, which provided invaluable care and support to Jade and her family during the final stages of her illness. The family has shared how much the compassion and kindness shown by the team at Bezzina House meant to their family during such a challenging time. A QR code will be available on Thursday for those who wish to make a donation. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will be gratefully appreciated.

Dear Beresford Road PS Community,

It is with deep sadness that I inform you that our much-loved Deputy Principal, Mrs Jade Leverett, passed away on Thursday morning following a long illness.

Mrs Leverett will be greatly missed by our school community. She will be remembered as an inspiring educational leader, a compassionate friend and someone who cared deeply for others. Mrs Leverett loved Beresford Road Public School, our students and our community, and she truly believed in the potential of every student and teacher.

Thank you to our wonderful community for the many condolence messages we have already received.

๐Ÿ“šโœจ Write a Book in a Day 2026 โœจ๐Ÿ“š
Last Tuesday, 16 students from our Year 5 and Year 6 HPGE groups proudly represented Beresford Road Public School in the Write a Book in a Day competition.
Working collaboratively, students spent the day planning, writing and illustrating their own original children's books, all within just eight hours! Their completed books will now be shared digitally with children in hospitals across Australia, bringing smiles to young readers while showcasing our students' incredible creativity and teamwork.
As part of this wonderful initiative, Beresford Road Public School also made a donation on behalf of our students to The Kids' Cancer Project, supporting vital childhood cancer research.
We are so proud of our students for embracing this challenge with such enthusiasm, imagination and collaboration. Congratulations to everyone involved! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŸ
If you would like to read their amazing stories, we have emailed copies to all families via SchoolBytes. We hope you enjoy reading these wonderful books and celebrating the creativity and hard work of our students!

Day 2 in Canberra was another huge day packed with memorable experiences! Students explored the inner workings of Parliament House, where they took part in a mock debate and voted on a bill in the House of Representatives. We then enjoyed lunch with stunning views at the National Arboretum before visiting Government House and the Australian War Memorial, where students reflected on the stories and sacrifices that have shaped our nation. We finished the day at the Australian Institute of Sport, learning about the dedication and training required to compete at the highest level. A fantastic day of learning, discovery and fun! ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿ…
