During today's Gospel Jesus looks at the crowds with deep compassion because they were “harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” His response to people’s needs was not indifference, but care, healing, and hope.

Jesus then calls His disciples and sends them out to serve others, to bring peace, healing, and the message of God’s kingdom. It is a reminder that faith is not only something we believe, but something we live out through our actions and relationships.

As a school community, we are encouraged to notice those around us who may need encouragement, friendship, or support. Small acts of kindness, listening, and compassion can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.

Jesus’ words also remind us that each person has gifts and opportunities to serve others. We can be people who reflect God’s love through generosity, care, and service.

During today's Gospel Jesus describes Himself as the “living bread that came down from heaven.” His words remind us that true life is found in Him. Just as bread nourishes the body, Jesus nourishes our hearts, minds, and spirits with His love, grace, and presence.

This passage points us to the deep relationship Jesus invites us into, one built on trust, faith, and dependence on Him each day. In busy school life, it can be easy to rely only on our own strength, but Jesus reminds us that lasting hope and peace come from staying connected to Him.

As a school community, may we seek to be spiritually nourished through prayer, learning, worship, and caring for one another. When we walk closely with Christ, we are strengthened to serve, encourage, and grow together.

Parents, You are warmly invited to join us for a special time of prayer and reflection, A Love Like No Other, centred on the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the unconditional love Jesus has for each of us.

Together, we will pause to reflect on Christ’s compassionate heart, pray for our families, and be renewed by His peace, mercy, and love. May this gathering strengthen our faith and remind us that every family is held deeply in the heart of Jesus.
