Nutritional meals for your children ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿฅ™

Did you know we have a full time chef on site that prepares all the children's meals. We prepare 5 meals a day from our seasonal 4 weekly rotating menus.

Our menus have been created from our head chef ensuring all meals meet the children's nutritional requirements each day.

And yes, they are as delicious as they look ๐Ÿ˜‹

Emergency drill practice at AMIGA Montessori Greenvale โ›‘๏ธ๐Ÿšจ

Today, our children participated in a fire evacuation drill, practicing how to respond calmly and safely in the event of an emergency.

The children listened carefully to educator directions, exited the building safely and made their way to our designated emergency evacuation point.

We practice emergency drills monthly so our children and educators are familiar with the procedures and feel confident knowing what to do should a real emergency occur.

Regular practice helps us build safety, confidence, and preparedness while supporting children to understand the importance of following instructions and working together ๐Ÿ’š

One of our most recognisable Montessori materials, the Pink Tower ๐Ÿฉท

Found on the Sensorial shelf. The pink tower consists of ten pink cubes that gradually increases in size. As children build the tower, they use their hands and eyes to explore dimension, size, and visual discrimination while carefully coordinating their movements.

The learning goes beyond simply building a tower! Through this work, children develop fine motor coordination, concentration, order, spacial awareness and problem solving skills. The material also supports children to notice subtle differences in size and understand concepts such as big & small. โœจ

Exploring the wonderful world of science ๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ”ฌ

Science week is the perfect opportunity to spark curiosity, encourage questions and inspire children to explore the world around them.

At AMIGA Montessori Greenvale the children have dived into science week through hands on experiences and science experiments to investigate, make discoveries, test their ideas and learn through their own experiences. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒ

Wellness Wednesday- Celebrating culture through food ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

At AMIGA Montessori Greenvale, our Wellness Wednesday was all about connection, culture and community.

Our wonderful team of educators each brought along a special dish representing their culture or heritage, creating a beautiful shared lunch filled with delicious food, stories and opportunities to learn more about one another. โœจ

This experience beautifully reflects the National Quality Standard, particularly Quality Area 4 and Quality Area 6 by fostering positive relationships, collaboration, respect and a strong sense of community as well as the importance of valuing culture, diversity and collaborative relationships within our service community.

It also reflects our Montessori values of respect, community, independence and appreciation of each individual. Montessori education recognises the importance of helping children understand that they are part of a wider community and developing respect for the diversity of people and cultures around them. ๐ŸŒฟ

๐ŸŒโœจ Celebrating Culture Through Our Classrooms โœจ๐ŸŒ

At AMIGA Montessori Greenvale, we believe culture is an important part of every childโ€™s learning journey. We aim to create classrooms that reflect and celebrate the diverse cultures, traditions and experiences of our AMIGA Greenvale community. โค๏ธ

We have incorporated elements of different cultures into our Practical Life areas, allowing children to explore familiar and new tools through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Our shelves include chopsticks, Dutch whisks, bamboo steaming baskets, Italian coffee makers, traditional coin pouches, spices from different parts of the world and matcha whisks. ๐ŸŒฟโ˜•๐Ÿฅข

These everyday materials provide opportunities for children to develop fine motor skills, concentration and independence, while also encouraging conversations about culture, traditions and the different ways people around the world prepare and enjoy food.

By embedding culture throughout our environments, we help children develop respect, curiosity and appreciation for diversity from an early age. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ’ช Being the Boss of Our Own Body! ๐Ÿ’›

Our Kinder children at AMIGA Montessori Greenvale had a wonderful opportunity to participate in a special puppet show presented by Peaceful Programs, focusing on body safety, personal boundaries and keeping ourselves safe.

The children were so engaged throughout the show, answering questions and sharing their ideas about how they can use their voice and set boundaries. One child confidently shared, โ€œI will say go away if I don't like something.โ€ ๐Ÿ’ฌโœจ

It was wonderful to see the children learning that they are the boss of their own body and that it is okay to speak up when something doesnโ€™t feel right.

A fun, engaging and meaningful experience helping our children build confidence, awareness and the skills to keep themselves safe. ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ

๐ŸŒฟ Listening to Childrenโ€™s Voices ๐ŸŒฟ

At AMIGA Montessori Greenvale, we value the voices, ideas and interests of every child. ๐Ÿ’š

Our educators listen closely to childrenโ€™s questions, conversations and curiosities, using these observations to help guide our monthly planning and learning experiences.

These interests then come to life through our beautiful inquiry topic tables, giving children opportunities to explore, investigate and discover more about the things that spark their curiosity. ๐Ÿ”โœจ

We believe meaningful learning begins with listening to children and following their interests. ๐ŸŒฑ
