Our Year 11 VCE Visual Communication Design students recently attended the Top Designs / Design Culture and Innovation excursion. Students heard from graphic designer Jess McGeachin during an industry forum, where our students asked insightful questions about how to overcome design challenges and his thoughts on the impact of AI on the design industry. After viewing inspiring VCE Top Designs works, students participated in a workshop at NGV Australia, exploring how different cultures and design movements have inspired iconic Australian architecture, later creating their own typographic designs inspired by these ideas. A fantastic day of creativity, curiosity, and design thinking.

Year 11 Visual Communication Design students stepping into the role of real-world designers during their SAT task. Students took part in a design critique where they gave feedback to their peers on their design concepts for a logo, evaluating them against the brief given to them by the client. Students will now apply this feedback to their final design to deliver as a digital design solution.
