Term two is flying by at Apollo Parkways Preschool🤗

We had wonderful community support at our Eltham Bunnings fundraiser on the weekend, and our amazing parent volunteers have been working hard contributing towards our maintenance working bee to keep our kinder looking great 🌳🐝

A glimpse into our days that our 3s and 4s having been having fun with, outdoor adventures to creative experiences, every day brings something different!

Our Bunnings Sausage Sizzle is one of the kinder’s major fundraisers each year, and we’d love your support to make it a success.

We have kicked off Term 2 with a great start, thanks to our friends at Pizza Plenty supporting our Kinder Fundraising Committee. The Sunday before Term 2 commenced we joined them in store, with plenty of pizza, great company, and lots of smiles 🍕✨

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported us, and especially to Pizza Plenty for donating a percentage of sales to our preschool. Your generosity truly means so much to our community 💛

Two of our preschoolers, had a fantastic time polling customers on the age-old question… does pineapple belong on pizza? 🍍

And the verdict is in… an overwhelming YES!!! 😄

🌸 End of Term 1 – Happy Easter 🐰

What a wonderful first term we’ve had at Kinder!

The children have settled in beautifully, formed new friendships and grown so much in confidence, independence and curiosity. We’ve loved seeing them explore, create, play and learn together each day.

As we wrap up Term 1, we’d like to wish all our families a very happy and safe Easter break. Thank you for your ongoing support, we’re looking forward to another exciting term ahead when we return.

Did you know Victoria’s kindergarten teachers and educators are the lowest paid in Australia?

They have not received an official pay rise under VECTEA since April 2024. And because our services are 100% funded by the State Government under Free Kinder, we cannot change that without government action. We need the Victorian Government to provide funding for wages that truly values the impact this workforce has on the lives of Victoria’s youngest children, including those at our service.

The children in our service have drawn pictures of their kinder teachers 🫶

These are the people who show up every day to give our children the best possible start in life. They deserve to be paid fairly for that work.

We were so grateful to be a recipient of a Banyule Community Grant (Minor Capital Works) last year 🙌

Our 2025 grants officer Rebekah attended the awards ceremony to accept the grant, and at the beginning of this year we were able to install our new bike sheds and storage shed for sandpit/mud kitchen equipment 🚲🌿

These custom sheds from Design A Shed make it so much easier for the children to independently grab a bike to ride and return it when they’re finished - supporting confidence, responsibility and lots of fun outdoor play.

A big thank you to Banyule City Council for supporting our kinder community and helping us improve our learning environment for the children.

Do you love locally made pasta!

Apollo Parkways Pre-School is running a pasta drive with the delicious Nick's Negozio, orders must be in by 13th March and Nick will deliver to our Kinder on 18th March between 3-4pm for pickup.
