Over the past three days, our company has hosted an incredible Directors’ Retreat at Hope Island, filled with inspiration, connection, collaboration, and growth.
We were privileged to hear from motivational speakers and The Lucy Bloom, whose insights challenged us to think differently, lead with purpose, and continue striving to be the best leaders we can be.
The retreat provided valuable opportunities to collaborate with our sister centres and fellow directors, strengthen connections, participate in team-building experiences, and work together as leaders to support, guide, motivate, and inspire our teams.
A heartfelt thank you to our Approved Provider, Operations Manager, and Area Managers for organising such a meaningful and rewarding three days. Your dedication to investing in leadership development and creating opportunities for connection and growth is truly appreciated.
We return to our services feeling refreshed, inspired, and excited to continue making a positive difference for our children, families, educators, and communities.

🚒🔥 A Special Visit from the Fire Brigade! 🔥🚒
Today, our Kindergarten children were excited to welcome some very special visitors from the local Fire Fighters!
The firefighters spoke with us about the important role they play in keeping our community safe and shared valuable information about what to do in an emergency.
After our discussion, we headed outside for an up-close look at the fire truck. The children were fascinated by all the equipment onboard and enjoyed learning about the different tools and PPE firefighters use in their work. The highlight of the visit was seeing the firefighters demonstrate the water hose in action – there were plenty of wide eyes and excited smiles! Especially when Miss Dani and Miss Taylah had a go 🤣
We would like to extend a big thank you to our local firefighters for taking the time to visit us and help our children learn about safety, community helpers, and the important work they do every day. ❤️🚒

🛒👩🍳 Kindergarten Goes Shopping! 👨🍳🛒
Today, our Kindergarten children enjoyed a special community excursion to Woolworths to purchase ingredients for an upcoming cooking experience!
Armed with their shopping list, the children worked together to identify different foods, locate items throughout the store, and discuss healthy ingredients. Along the way, they practised important life skills such as decision-making, communication, problem-solving, and understanding how food gets from the supermarket to our tables.
The children were excited to take responsibility for selecting and purchasing the ingredients they will soon use in their cooking activity. Experiences like these help children build confidence, develop early numeracy and literacy skills, and strengthen their connection to the local community.
We can't wait to see the delicious creations they make with their ingredients! 🍎🥕🍌

♻️🦸♂️ What a Super Recycling Adventure! 🦸♂️♻️
Today, our children were excited to welcome Recycle Man to our service! Through fun, interactive activities and superhero-powered lessons, Recycle Man taught us all about caring for our planet and the important role we can play in protecting the environment.
The children learned about recycling, reducing waste, and making thoughtful choices to help keep our Earth clean and healthy for future generations. There were lots of smiles, questions, and enthusiastic discussions as the children discovered how even small actions can make a big difference.
Experiences like these help children develop an understanding of sustainability and encourage them to become responsible, environmentally conscious citizens.
Thank you, Recycle Man, for inspiring our little eco-heroes and showing us that everyone has the power to help save the planet! 🌏💚

Today, some of our Pre Kindy 2 children took turns cooking delicious chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen!
At Active Kids Greenbank, we offer cooking experiences for all children alongside our two wonderful chefs. These hands-on opportunities support children in developing important life skills while learning about measurements, ingredients, sequencing, safety, and the science behind cooking.
The children were excited to mix, measure, and create their own tasty treats while building confidence and independence in the kitchen. We can’t wait to see what they’ll be cooking next!

As we acknowledge the Sea of Hearts during National Reconciliation Week, our service community has come together to create beautiful hearts decorated by our children, educators, and families.
These hearts represent connection, respect, and our commitment to walking together on the journey of reconciliation. We are proud to display them at the front of our service as a meaningful way to recognise and celebrate this important week.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this special display and helped create a visual reminder of unity, inclusion, and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.

Recently we welcomed two beautiful 1 day old ducklings to our centre for a special visit, and over the past few weeks our children, educators and families have completely fallen in love with our new fluffy friends.
We are so excited to officially announce that Love and Flash are now permanent members of the Active Kids family after being adopted from Dragon Fields
Since arriving, Love and Flash have already been on so many exciting adventures, including visits to our families’ homes where they have continued building beautiful connections with the children. We absolutely love seeing the joy, care and curiosity they bring to our learning environment. Families, feel free to share your adventures and special moments with Love and Flash in the comments below.
As they continue to grow, Love and Flash will join us on many more adventures including Bush Kindy experiences, outdoor explorations and hands-on learning opportunities that support children’s understanding of responsibility, sustainability, empathy and caring for living things.
We cannot wait to watch the beautiful bonds between our children and our newest feathered friends continue to flourish.
Welcome to the family, Love and Flash.
