Last night we had our Joseph Fatherhood Initiative. It was a great evening of food, fun and faith with our fathers/father figures and their children. The night involved connection through handball and ice breaker bingo, learning about the qualities of a good father, bonding between miraculous children with their fathers and most importantly about the perfect role model of a father - St Joseph. This was a wonderful night and we thank the Family Wellbeing and Education Team from Sydney Catholic Schools for this initiative.

Today some students across Sydney Catholic Schools came together to undergo an Altar Servers Course run by the Liturgy Office. Two of our students attended where they learnt about the structure of the Mass, the correct gestures, the names and use of various liturgical items and more! This was a wonderful opportunity for these students who can take their learning back to parishes when altar serving.

The Family Wellbeing and Education Team from Sydney Catholic Schools will be hosting and presenting the Joseph Fatherhood Initiative. It is a FREE event of an evening held at our school, St John Vianney Greenacre, on Wednesday the 19th August 2025.
Start Time: 5.45pm for 6.00pm start
Finish Time: 7.30pm

This is a night for all fathers, father figures and their children to attend. It includes fun games, pizza and a reflection on St Joseph at a role model for Fathers. This is great to spend some quality time with your children, strengthen your bond, share a meal and connect with other families in our community.

Today our STJV students experienced a live action play on Mary Mackillop’s life. This was a great way to continue the celebration of St Mary of the Cross Mackillop’s Feast Day which was on the 8th of August. May she continue to pray for us and be a role model for all of us Australians 🙏🏼
