Minarah College is an independent Islamic co-educational school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Minarah College was established in January 2002 by the Muslim League of NSW Inc. The school is located 7 kilometers from Liverpool amongst Sydney’s South Western Suburbs. Minarah College was started to ensure that the best quality education is delivered to our future leaders, our chi

ldren, within an Islamic environment. The school motto, ‘Oh Lord Increase my Knowledge’, is that students will seek increased knowledge through faith and prayer. Minarah College was founded to provide boys and girls to acquire knowledge and education of Islamic Ethical Values and to excel in this life and the Hereafter through the provision of a wide range of learning experiences in a supportive, caring and intellectually stimulating environment. ⚽🏆 FROM MINARAH COLLEGE TO THE NSW STAGE! 🏆⚽

Alhamdulillah, we are incredibly proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement for one of our students! 🌟

During the Soccer Harmony Cup, Ahmed’s talent and performance caught the attention of selectors, earning him an opportunity to trial for the Harmony Cup NSW Team.

And he made it! 🎉👏

Ahmed will now proudly represent NSW, taking the Minarah College name with him to the state stage.

This is a wonderful recognition of his hard work, talent, and passion for soccer, and a great example of the opportunities that extracurricular sport can create for our students.

✈️✨ Inspiring the Next Generation of Women in Engineering ✨✈️

A group of our Year 11 Advanced Mathematics students recently attended the Girls in Engineering event at Qantas Headquarters, celebrating International Women in Engineering Day.

With more than 150 students from 16 schools, our students gained an exciting insight into aviation engineering through inspiring talks from women in the industry, a careers expo, aircraft components, and an engineering challenge. 🚀

A sincere thank you to Qantas for inspiring our students to dream boldly and for fostering an inclusive environment that supports students of all faiths, including access to a multi-faith room for Salat.

We also thank Ms Sarah ElWazer for establishing Minarah’s engagement with Qantas and supporting our students throughout the day.

Experiences like these encourage our students to broaden their aspirations, explore STEM careers, and discover the many pathways available to them.

We are incredibly proud of our students for representing Minarah College with such enthusiasm and excellence! 🌟

The talented students of class 2R have successfully completed their captivating narrative titled "Moshu the Cheeky Monkey". 💙

Demonstrating incredible dedication throughout the writing process, they have now enthusiastically transitioned into becoming illustrators for their official class book. Last week, the Roosters had a record breaking win and Mr Aaqil came in his Roosters jersey. After some respectful banter, it was decided that if Bulldogs beat the Roosters, Mr Aaqil will wear a Bulldogs jersey all week. But, if Roosters won....

On a more important note, a reminder that the Year 10 subject selection information night is this Wednesday 12 August in the school hall starting at 6:00pm. The session aims to provide students and parents information about subjects available as they move into their final years at school. We look forward to seeing all Year 10 students and their parents on the night.

From sketching one of Sydney’s major dams to pulling guppies out of a lagoon — Geography looked a little different today! 🐟💧

At Woronora Dam, students took in the scale of the landscape firsthand, sketching the dam and learning about its purpose and importance to Sydney’s water supply.

Then it was off to Stanwell Park Reserve for lunch before the real fieldwork began. Students tried dip net fishing, caught guppies and tested samples from the lagoon and surrounding water sources to investigate water quality and determine whether the water showed signs of a healthy or polluted environment.

A hands-on day of Geography, with plenty of muddy nets, water samples and real data to bring the classroom learning to life. 🌿

Today, history stepped out of the textbook.

Our Year 11 Ancient History students journeyed beneath the streets of Sydney at The Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre, where centuries of Australia’s past were uncovered one artefact at a time. Instead of simply reading about archaeological methods, students became historians—examining evidence, questioning interpretations, and discovering how ordinary objects can reveal extraordinary stories about the people who came before us.

The journey didn’t end there.

Students then experienced The Odyssey on the big screen, bringing Homer’s epic to life. As they watched Odysseus navigate monsters, gods, impossible choices and the long road home, they explored the enduring questions that have fascinated historians and classicists for thousands of years: Where does myth end and history begin? How do stories shape our understanding of the ancient world? And why do these legends still resonate today?

Last Term, our Year 11 & 12 students attended the Careers Expo at the Dome, Sydney Showground, exploring future pathways and opportunities. They connected with universities across Australia, TAFEs, and industries including aviation, trades, WSI, Border Security, and DAFF.

Hands-on activities and interactive exhibits gave students valuable insight and inspiration for their future careers.

🌟 Minarah College at the 2168 Children’s Parliament 2026 🌟

We are incredibly proud of Alhan Sadik, Larissa Noor, Asma Fathima, and Subhan Matin, who represented Minarah College at the 2168 Children’s Parliament held at the Liverpool Powerhouse.

Joining student leaders from across the Liverpool region, our students participated in meaningful discussions on issues affecting young people, including online safety, cyberbullying, artificial intelligence, swimming education, and the importance of ensuring children’s voices are heard.

They also had the opportunity to engage with community leaders, government representatives, and education professionals, demonstrating confidence, maturity, and a strong commitment to positive change.
The day concluded with a visit to a local recycling centre, where students learned about sustainability, environmental responsibility, and the recycling process. ♻️

We are immensely proud of the way our students represented Minarah College and showcased the leadership, character, and values that define our school community. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement! 👏✨
