Three Kardinia International College students recently participated in the 2026 International Cadet World Championships in Lake Garda, Italy!

Representing Australia against some of the world's best young sailors, Will Garner (Year 8), a member of Kardinia's High-Performance Athlete Program, delivered an exceptional regatta aboard Kachow, finishing 2nd overall in a fleet of 65 boats from 10 countries. Will and his crew Jack were overall leaders midway through the event and, as the highest-placed Under 15 and Under 16 skipper, Will was awarded both the Ellis Perpetual Trophy and Wilson Perpetual Trophy.

Fellow High-Performance Athlete Program member Walter Howard (Year 10) competed aboard Mischief Managed, finishing 37th overall in a highly competitive international fleet. Sailing alongside his crew Will, Walter rose to the challenge of variable conditions and faced a particular challenge as one of the tallest sailors in the fleet where lighter winds often worked against him.

Meanwhile, Matilda G (Year 10) achieved outstanding success in the Promotional Fleet aboard Ocean Warrior, claiming the overall division title with her crew Poppy after consistently strong performances in challenging racing conditions.

We congratulate Will, Walter and Matilda on these incredible achievements and on representing both Australia and Kardinia International College with distinction on the international stage.

Geelong City Market was buzzing!

Our bands brought plenty of energy, great music, and big smiles to the Geelong City Market on Saturday, entertaining shoppers and visitors throughout the day. It was wonderful to see our students performing with such confidence and enthusiasm while gaining valuable real-world performance experience.

Congratulations on a fantastic gig. You made us proud!

Last week's Japanese Week celebrations in the Senior School featured a variety of activities, including Mario Kart competitions, a Taiko drumming workshop, matcha smoothies, origami, koinobori kite making and more!

A fun and immersive opportunity for our senior students to engage with Japanese culture.

A big thank you to our Languages Department (and a big shout out to Ota Sensei!) and IB Japanese year 1 students (Hollie M, Tina M, Sebastian F, Kirilee M, and Jasper G) for putting together a brilliant week of Japanese celebrations!

For the past month the Junior School has been collecting food donations in year level categories for an organisation called Pass the Snacks ( ). Pass the Snacks is an organisation that collects food donations, packs them into boxes and sends them to schools around Geelong that give the boxes to kids that don’t have enough food during the school holidays.

The Student Action Committee collected 307 items of food (22 boxes) from our Junior School community, which is incredible!

On the 10th of August a packing day was held where some Year 6 volunteers and the Year 2s got to pack all the food donations. This became part of some Year 6 students’ Exhibition action.

Everyone was very lucky that we got to have some people from the Pass the Snacks organisation come in and share important information about the charity and how we can help.

Celebrating 20 Years of the International Baccalaureate PYP Exhibition at Kardinia International College 🎉

On Monday evening, our Year 6 students proudly shared the culmination of their Primary Years Programme journey at the 20th PYP Exhibition held at Kardinia International College.

Exploring important global and social issues including deforestation, gender equity, body image, pet cruelty and animal testing, students demonstrated impressive research, critical thinking and empathy. More importantly, they showed a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the world around them.

Congratulations to our Year 6 students on their outstanding efforts, and thank you to the teachers, mentors and families who supported them throughout this amazing journey.

Book Week has filled Kardinia International College with imagination, creativity and a shared love of reading.

From colourful costume parades and a special visit from Funky Chicken author Chris Collin, to creative competitions and the challenge of finding six hidden Wallys across the Senior School, there was something for every student to enjoy.

Most importantly, it was wonderful to see books sparking conversations, curiosity and excitement throughout our College community.

A huge thank you to our Library Services Team and everyone who helped bring the magic of Book Week to life.

"Last week, we hosted 'Timor Trivia Night' to raise funds for a community centre and our sister school in Timor Leste.
The night featured different rounds of questions drawing on knowledge from all areas with teams competing to win first prize.
We had special raffle prizes with vouchers and an assortment of goods that were up for grabs. The night was a massive success, and we raised over $1000 with all the support of all who took part."

Congratulations to our Year 11 students who organised a successful fundraiser for the Community Centre in Viqueque, to support the purchase of audiovisual equipment. Thank you to the students, families and members of our community who came along and contributed to such a wonderful evening.

What a week at Mittagundi.

Year 9 students experienced the last of the season's snow, with many learning to cross-country ski for the first time, while also immersing themselves in life on an off-grid farm. From caring for horses and chickens to milking cows and working in the forge, students embraced the unique challenges and rewards of the experience.

A week of adventure, contribution and personal growth that won't soon be forgotten.

Today we farewell our visiting students from .since1967 as they return home after a wonderful week in Geelong.

A visit to Australia wouldn't be complete without some time spotting Kangaroos and Emus! Their final days also included a visit to the National Wool Museum, learning about the region's wool industry and history, creating felt bookmarks, and fitting in some last-minute shopping before departure.

While the visit was brief, there was plenty of time to form new friendships, share cultures, and create lasting memories. A huge thank you to our incredible Homestay families who opened their homes and supported the students during their visit.

Safe travels and thank you for visiting Kardinia!
