Clarence Valley Anglican School (CVAS) is an extraordinary independent co-education primary and secondary school situated in the heart of the Clarence Valley. CVAS learning is delivered across two campuses: Our Cathedral Campus, located in Grafton, is focused on early le
arning and development for PreKinder children. While Clarenza Campus, 10-minutes south of Grafton, is dedicated to primary and senior students, featuring large grounds, state-of-the-art facilities, new technologies, and an above-average teacher-to-student ratio. The school is non-selective, and inclusive- welcoming diverse cultures and faith traditions. We enroll students from a broad area, from Iluka down to Coffs Harbour and everywhere in between. Our private bus services operate each day through the term to transport students to and from school, and between campuses. As one of the five Anglican Schools within the Mid North Coast diocese, we work closely with the other schools and have a close sister-school relationship with Coffs Harbour’s Bishop Druitt College. CVAS offers diverse curriculum subjects and co-curricular activities. We have strong music, arts, sports, and science programs, as well as outdoor education, camps, and excursions. History of the School:
In 1998 the first official school photo of CVAS was taken. Then known as The Cathedral School (TCS), we operated from one campus at 39 Victoria Street, Grafton. By 2006 a second campus was opened on Centenary Drive, Clarenza, a short 10-minute drive from our original campus. Six years later in 2012, the Cathedral Campus was again at capacity and the decision was made to move our Years 5 and 6 students to the Clarenza Campus. Not long after the Clarenza Campus was built the school decided to update the name of the school to Clarence Valley Anglican School (CVAS) which helped market the school to the entire Clarence Valley community. In 2016 Ted and Peggy Clarke generously gifted CVAS their farm “Farnworth” at Glenreagh. This wonderful gift provides our agricultural students a broad space to put into practice what they have learned in the classroom. It also provides a rich learning environment for all our students and we look forward to seeing this develop over the many years to come. In 2019 we launched a 25-year Master Plan for our Clarenza Campus. Part of the first stage is the construction of a Performance Centre which was constructed and opened in 2021. We are certainly proud of our humble origins and look forward to the continued growth of Clarence Valley Anglican School.
