The children have been showing a strong interest in helping each other with the doctors kit. Today we looked at some videos of how to bandage correctly, then had a practice on each other. Even Judys limbs got bandaged. It was lots of fun,and L even managed how to re-roll bandages between uses.

We got busy in the garden today removing our broccoli plants that had come to the end of their production. We had a good look at the root system - even finding a wiggly worm in one set of roots - and then set to getting all the top growth into our composter so that the plants can help our newplants grow in the future.

Ahoy Mateys!!! The pirate fun continued today with our trainee pirates practicing digging for treasure. Lots of sparkles found - and lots of fantastic mess everywhere. Blimey! Looks like they will all be fully fledged pirates before the week is out.

Miss L and Judy had a big conversation yesterday as to how long it takes for a seed to sprout into a plant (one million hours apparently). Today we planted some cottage flower seeds. There were lots of different kinds of seeds in the pack. We sprinkled them carefully over the pot, then covered them with some seed raising mix. We very carefully patted them down into the pot, then sprayed them with water so they were nice and moist. We will have to spray them every day till they sprout - hopefully in 3 to 4 weeks, not one million hours.

What does an Educator do when she has a cold over the weekend? Construct and paint a new cubby house of course!! Happy 2nd Birthday P!! Mum bought in these fantastic Batman cupcakes, and we made "Furry Bread" (fairy bread) to go with them, after P requested birthday sprinkles yesterday. We have had superhero dressups, dancing and singing all day in celebration. I wish everyday could be a birthday celebration.

The culmination of our Dental Health Week work. We have looked at why we brush our teeth, how we brush and floss our teeth, what happens if we don't brush our teeth, and even learned the "You Brush Your Teeth" song. Photos are the end of our experiment showing stains that occur if we don't brush our teeth, and flossing plaque from between our teeth. Hopefully, just like the coke in the eggshell, the knowledge has soaked in.

Todays invitation to create.... P has had a strong interest in creating art by geing inspired by the things around her. Today we had some lovely flowers for inspiration. We ended up with some beautiful art to take home to share with our families.
