👖💙 On Thursday, our Goodstart Early Learning Grafton community proudly took part in Jeans for Genes Day! 💙👖
It was wonderful to see so many of our children and educators dressing up in their favourite denim to support such an important cause thank you to our amazing families. The centre was filled with smiles, excitement and plenty of blue jeans as everyone came together to raise awareness for children and families living with genetic conditions.
At Goodstart Grafton, we love taking part in community events that help our children learn about kindness, compassion and the importance of helping others. Through experiences like Jeans for Genes Day, our little learners begin to understand that even small acts of support can make a big difference in the lives of others.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful families and dedicated educators who joined in and helped make the day such a success. Your enthusiasm and generosity are what make our Goodstart Grafton community so special.
We are incredibly proud to be part of a community that embraces opportunities to learn, connect and give back. Together, we can help create brighter futures for children everywhere. 💙👖✨

🩶🖤🎉 A Proud Milestone for Our 100% Compliance Centre! 🎉🩶🖤

Today, we are incredibly proud to celebrate a significant achievement—all of our educators, both permanent and casual, have successfully completed the National Child Safety Foundation Training.

This accomplishment reflects our team’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and wellbeing for every child in our care. By completing this important training, our educators have further strengthened their knowledge and understanding of child-safe practices, ensuring that our centre continues to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for children and families.

We are grateful for the dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm demonstrated by our entire team in reaching this milestone. Together, we remain committed to creating a culture where children’s safety, rights, and wellbeing are always our highest priority.

👏 Congratulations to our amazing educators on achieving 100% compliance—a fantastic result and a true reflection of our shared commitment to excellence! 🌟

The research is clear 📚 reading aloud is one of the most powerful things we can do for our children.

When we read with a child, we’re doing far more than sharing a story. We’re building the foundations for language, confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Decades of research shows that children who are read to regularly:

💛 Build stronger language skills
Hearing rich varied language in books exposes children to far more words than everyday conversation alone. This growing vocabulary helps them understand, communicate and make sense of the world.

💛 Develop early literacy skills long before they learn to read
Through stories, children learn how books work – that print carries meaning, that pages turn left to right, and that stories have a beginning, middle and end. These early understandings make learning to read feel familiar and exciting.

💛 Strengthen phonological awareness
Rhymes, rhythms and playful sounds help children hear the building blocks of language.

💛 Grow their comprehension and thinking skills
Talking together about a story, predicting what might happen, wondering how a character feels, and connecting events to real life helps children develop memory, problem-solving, and higher-order thinking.

💛 Experience connection, comfort and joy
Shared reading fosters calmness, closeness, and moments of joint attention. These warm interactions support a child's sense of security and belonging.

Most importantly, children who experience positive, engaging reading moments from a young age are more likely to develop a genuine love of books - something that matters even more than early literacy skills alone.

Reading is simple, joyful, and sets children up for success in school and life.

💙 Help Us Make a Difference This Pyjama Week! 💙

Our families are the best as they send their children into the centre in their PJs.
Our Goodstart Early Learning Grafton team has been wearing our pyjamas all week to help raise awareness and funds for The Pyjama Foundation, supporting children living in foster care.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide children with learning, life skills, and positive one-on-one mentoring through the Foundation’s Love of Learning Program.
