Beating the summer heat! Does anyone else remember spending their childhood playing in the rain?

January 26, 1788 the day when the first settlers came to Australia to live. My knowledge of the meaning of this day was pretty limited because that’s all I learnt whilst at school. I didn’t know the true history of today until after I left school and learnt it for myself.

Don’t get me wrong I think we can celebrate our country but not on a day that brings so much pain to so many of our people!

Did you know Australia Day wasn’t a national public holiday until 1994? First Nation people in their 50s are amongst the children removed from their homes under a Government policy. Our First Nation people have faced enough heartache, it’s about time we change the date!

I will ensure my children will grow up knowing the true meaning of today. It’s never too early if you do it in an age appropriate way.

Holidays mean spontaneous trips to the beach for dinner and a sneaky swim whilst exploring the rock pools

A little boy who has been obsessed with watching animal documentaries was very happy to visit the today. It was good to be able to see many of the animals we have been learning about in the documentaries including monkeys and our favourite cheetahs. We had such a great morning and highly recommend!

This Christmas we have tried our best to be as sustainable as possible and support small. We have used material as wrapping paper and used air drying clay to create our name tags, finished off with a little bit of rosemary.

We shopped the magazine supporting a variety of small businesses and also purchased from a few others. This Christmas we have supported .and.me.au .trading

Getting into the Christmas spirit 🎄

We used our Build a Christmas Face Set from and created a game for all to enjoy. Such a fun way to use this set, although it is very versatile and can be used with play dough or other sensory bases as well.
