🎉 What a Day! Family Fun Fest Brings the CTK School Community Together 🎉

What a fantastic afternoon our 2026 Family Fun Fest turned out to be! More than 400 members of our school community came together on Saturday, 12 September for an afternoon filled with fun, laughter and connection. 🎪✨

From the Junior and Adventurer Passports 📖 to face painting 🎨, the petting zoo🐥, creative activities ✂️, photo booth 📸, music 🎶, delicious food 🍔🍦and plenty of opportunities to play, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

💙Thank you to our incredible P&F, more than 60 parent and grandparent volunteers, our dedicated staff, generous donors and local suppliers who helped make this event possible for our students. Events like this simply couldn't happen without the support of so many people working behind the scenes.

👏Most importantly, thanks to our CTK School families for coming along, joining in the fun and helping create the warm, welcoming spirit that makes our community so special.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ CTK Shines at the Zone 2 Athletics Carnival! 🏅

What a fantastic day of athleticism, teamwork and school spirit at the Zone 2 Athletics Carnival held at QSAC on Thursday, 10 September! Our Christ the King School team joined students from 26 Catholic schools and represented CTK School with pride, determination and outstanding sportsmanship.

We are incredibly proud to share that CTK School finished 2nd Place in Ball Games and 2nd Place Overall in our division. What an amazing achievement!

A huge congratulations to all of our students for their efforts and a heartfelt thank you to Ms Emma Young, Mr Craig Jackson and Mrs Wendy Creevey for supporting and accompanying the team throughout the day.

🏏 Cricket Fever Hits CTK In Term 3! 🏏

Our students from Prep to Year 6 had a fantastic time this term sharpening their cricket skills when coaches Christian and Aaron visited Christ the King School, Graceville for special cricket clinics during PE lessons.

Through a range of fun drills, games and skill-building activities, students developed their batting, bowling and teamwork skills while enjoying plenty of active participation and friendly competition. It was wonderful to see so many students enthusiastically getting involved and giving cricket a go.

A big thanks to Christian and Aaron for an engaging and energetic session that inspired our students to stay active, build confidence and have fun through sport. 🌟

Today, we celebrate the remarkable leadership of Principal Mrs Bernadette Wright and Assistant Principal Religious Education Mrs Suzannah Halpin, whose partnership helps shape the warm, faith-filled and thriving community we are proud to call CTK School.

When parents speak about Mrs Wright, they consistently describe her as a leader who genuinely cares for children, families and the wider school community. They value her visible and approachable presence around the school, her willingness to listen, and her ability to navigate challenges with integrity, compassion and common sense.

Parents often highlight her clear vision for the future of our school, her exceptional work ethic and her commitment to preserving the traditions that make our school so special while embracing opportunities for growth and improvement. Most importantly, they recognise her dedication to ensuring every decision is guided by what is best for students.

Our students are equally grateful for Mrs Wright's leadership, describing her as "kind and caring", a principal who "helps us grow" and ensures students have a voice.

Today, we also celebrate Mrs Halpin, whose faith-filled leadership, warmth and dedication help nurture the spiritual life of our school. Together, Mrs Wright and Mrs Halpin lead with authenticity, care and a shared commitment to ensuring every member of our community feels known, valued and supported.

As Mrs Wright so beautifully reminds us:

Winter Warmie Wednesday brought all the cosy vibes to Christ the King School as part of Catholic Education Week. ❄️💛

Our students (and staff!) loved arriving in their winter pyjamas, dressing gowns and fluffy socks — ready for a relaxed, joy‑filled day to support a wonderful cause.

This year’s Winter Warmie Wednesday helped raise funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, an organisation doing incredible work to support access to culturally relevant books and literacy resources in remote communities. 📚🌿

Thank you to every family who contributed and embraced the fun. Moments like these remind us how powerful community can be when we come together with purpose, warmth and a whole lot of CTK School spirit. ✨

Catholic Education Week at Christ the King School always brings moments of joy, gratitude and togetherness — and Hot Chocolate Tuesday is one of our most loved traditions. ❤💙

Each year, our students look forward to warming up with a sweet treat, generously provided by our APRE, Mrs Suzannah Halpin, who pours so much heart into this annual celebration ☕🤍

This year’s donations were made through Qkr!, and our learners were all smiles as they enjoyed their hot chocolates and the sense of community that makes CTK School so special.

GRANDPARENTS' DAY AT CTK SCHOOL

Grandparents Day at Christ the King School is always a reminder of just how blessed we are. 💛✨

On Monday, 27 July, we gathered for a special Prayer Assembly and Morning Tea 🙏🫖 to honour the grandparents and elders who shape the everyday lives of our students. Their stories, their faith, their humour, their steady presence — these are the quiet legacies that help our children grow into kind, confident learners 🌿📚

Our students beamed as they welcomed their loved ones, and the hall was filled with the sort of joy only a grandparent can spark 👵🧓💛

Thank you to every grandparent, Nonna, Pop, aunt, uncle and elder who joined us. Your influence reaches far beyond the school gate, and we are deeply grateful for the love you pour into our CTK School community 🤍

🌿 LEARNING COMES ALIVE AT PARADISE COUNTRY! 🐨🐑

Our Prep students enjoyed an exciting excursion to Paradise Country as part of their Science and HASS learning.

Through the 'It's Alive and I Know Why' program, students explored the needs of plants and animals, discovered how seasonal changes affect the environment, and learned about the role people play in caring for our world. They also had plenty of opportunities to get up close to native Australian animals and learn through hands-on experiences.

It was a wonderful day of curiosity, discovery and adventure, bringing classroom learning to life in a fun and memorable way! 💙

A special thanks to Mrs Colley, Mrs Kiernan and Miss McIlwee for organising this fantastic learning experience, and to our wonderful parent helpers for their support throughout the day. We're grateful for your time and assistance.
