Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

💛 Sometimes the best learning resource is the one you already have at home.

✨💜🎉 Celebrating Our Employee Recognition Winner! 🎉💜✨

We’re proud to celebrate the incredible people who make Goodstart Gracemere a great place to work!

Through our Employee Recognition Nomination Program, team members have the opportunity to recognise colleagues who go above and beyond, demonstrate our values, support their teammates, and make a positive impact.

A huge congratulations to Miss Louise, July’s recognition winner! 🏆👏

Louise was nominated for being kind, warm, compassionate and dedicated to supporting children’s sense of belonging and wellbeing and we couldn’t agree more that their dedication and contribution deserve to be celebrated.

Thank you to Louise, and all of our amazing educators for everything you do and for helping make a difference across our team, children and families! 💙

Congratulations! 🎉

Check out July’s team nominations for the extraordinary work they do everyday. 💜

✨ Educator creations! ✨

Our creative educators Miss April & Miss Gabby have been busy creating something wonderful for our Nursery room! 💛✨
They’ve designed and built a beautiful busy board filled with fun, hands-on experiences for our little explorers. 🧠👶

From buttons and switches to textures and moving parts, this special resource encourages our babies to explore, discover and develop their fine motor skills through play.

We love seeing the creativity and care our educators put into creating meaningful learning experiences for our children. 🌿💫

Thank you to our amazing team for turning a simple idea into something our little ones can enjoy every day! 💕👏

Strong relationships are the foundation for confident, curious learners 💛

Goodstart’s key educator approach ensures every child is known, supported and feels safe - through consistent, nurturing connections with educators and meaningful partnerships with families. These bonds help build wellbeing, resilience and a true sense of belonging from day one.

💜😌 Emotional regulation 😌💜

This morning in Senior Toddlers the children used resources from Goodstart’s Behaviour Support kit to participate in a calm breathing exercise to support their emotional regulation and help them develop strategies for managing big emotions.

The children began by looking at our feelings vision board, which displayed the emotions happy, sad, mad and tired. One at a time the children were invited to point to the feeling that best represented how they were feeling in that moment. This gave the children an opportunity to recognise, identify and communicate their emotions. 🤔

The children were then asked if they’d like to do a breathing exercise that they could use when they were experiencing big emotions. Each child was encouraged to take five deep breaths. After each breath they placed a card onto the breathing chart, helping them to visually count their breaths while remaining engaged in the experience. 🥰

👖💙 Jeans for Genes Day! 💙👖

Yesterday we rocked our denim with our team and children to support an amazing cause! From tiny jeans to jackets and overalls, we swapped our usual outfits for blue/black denim and big smiles. 😄✨

Our children loved showing off their jeans while learning that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference for families affected by genetic conditions. 💙

Thank you to all our wonderful families for joining in, and helping us celebrate a day filled with fun, learning, and community spirit. 💙

We are excited to introduce our new Sustainability Champion Miss Gabby!

Our Sustainability Champion will help lead and inspire environmentally responsible practices throughout our centre, encouraging children, educators, and families to work together to care for our planet. From recycling and composting to gardening, reducing waste, and exploring nature through hands-on learning, sustainability will continue to be woven into our everyday experiences.

We believe that even the smallest actions can make a big difference, and by working together, we can help children develop lifelong habits of caring for the environment! 💚🪴♻️
