Have you backed up your data recently?

It must be a slow Newsday. I am having many customers ask about this “urgent update“ that needs to be done for your Apple devices.

No device is perfect and Apple is always working to keep us safe with updates that mean we do not need to have an antivirus program on our iPads and iPhones.

This is another one of those updates. The best way you can keep your devices safe and secure is to do these updates when they are released. For most of us they will be done automatically but if you don’t want to wait for the automatic update go to Settings, General, Software Update and Download and Install now.

In this update there is a fix in case you visit a specific malicious website (have no idea which ones) and from that visit there was a possibility the bad guys could take control of your device.

This type of attack is usually used for officials in high levels of government and espionage. Rarely is this type of attack used for people like us however keeping your device updated is the best way to keep your devices protected.

Please update all of your Apple products, not just today but every time Apple issues updates!
