It’s National Skills Week………..
What better way to start National Skills Week than with a shout out to the person who starts the conversations, sparks interest and creates opportunities for our students, Mrs Randall. From work experience and apprenticeships to TAFE, university and industry connections, she is constantly helping students explore what might be possible.

Sometimes a future pathway begins with one conversation. Mrs Randall has a wonderful ability to recognise potential, spark curiosity and connect students with opportunities that can shape what comes next.

Mathematical minds at work………
Enthusiastic mathematicians took the opportunity to compete in the AMT Australian Maths Competition.

The competition posed a range of challenging problems that had students thinking outside the box, applying their mathematical knowledge and approaching problems from different angles. It was a great opportunity for students to challenge themselves, test their skills and embrace some serious mathematical thinking!

A taste of mining………
Year 9 students have been learning about resource extraction and exploring the costs and benefits of mining ores.

To put their learning into practice, students took on the challenge of mining choc chips from a cookie! They experienced firsthand the challenges of extracting a valuable resource while considering efficiency, impact and the costs involved.
