🌿🐒 Jungle Gym Adventures – B5 & B4! 🐒🌿
Last Wednesday, our B5 and B4 students took on the Jungle Gym — and let’s just say… “still” was not on the agenda!

For the person behind the camera, it was quite the challenge!
Focus? Gone.
Still subjects? Nowhere to be found.
Fast-moving children? EVERYWHERE!

But all that climbing, sliding, balancing and flying was also great learning in action — building gross motor skills, coordination, balance, strength and confidence, while encouraging children to take safe risks and explore their abilities.

Here are a few snapshots from their very speedy adventure. Some are beautifully captured… and some are simply proof that our little explorers were too fast for the camera! 📸

Miss D, It’s Your Special Day! 🎉

Today we're here to celebrate,
A special birthday — isn’t that great?
A teacher who brings kindness every day,
So Miss D, we're singing hip hip hooray!

She walks in smiling, ready to go,
Bringing her sunshine wherever she goes.
From class to class, she knows us well,
With stories to share and things to tell.
Caring, kind and sweet,
Patient and thoughtful, funny and neat.
Creative, positive, friendly and bright,
She makes our school days feel just right!

📚✨ A Walk with Wirrabirra ESC's Miss Trunchbull ✨📚

Wirrabirra ESC Miss Trunchbull is walking along with the tween sisters from the magical world of Elphaba Thropp, the Wicked Witch of the West.
She looks very serious.
The girls look at each other.
They know Miss Trunchbull has a reputation for being rather… terrifying!
But this Miss Trunchbull is different.
She knows these girls are clever, curious and full of questions, so she decides to be nice.
Very nice.
“Well, girls,” she says, “what are we talking about today?”
“School!” they say.
“And books!” adds one of the sisters.
Miss Trunchbull raises an eyebrow.
“Books? Hmm. And what is so special about books?”
The girls smile.
“A book can take you anywhere,” one says.
“You can travel to another country.”
“Or meet someone from another time.”
“Or even visit a magical world!”
Miss Trunchbull looks impressed.
“So I don't need a broomstick?”
The girls burst out laughing.
“No, Miss Trunchbull! You just need to open a book!”
Miss Trunchbull takes a moment to think about this.
“Well,” she says, “that is certainly much easier than flying.”
The girls keep walking, chatting about their favourite stories and the books they love.
They talk about how reading helps us learn new words, discover new ideas, use our imagination and understand the world around us.
Miss Trunchbull listens carefully.
Then she smiles.
“Perhaps,” she says, “there is a little bit of magic hiding in every book.”
The girls nod.
And together they continue their walk, with stories, laughter and books leading the way.
Because at Wirrabirra, every book can open a door to a new adventure. 📖✨
And even Miss Trunchbull knows one very important rule:
Never underestimate girls and boys who love to read! 💚📚
