We are deeply saddened by the passing of Georg Pedersen, our esteemed music educator and friend.

Georg was one of Australia’s foremost cellists and a highly influential pedagogue. He was renowned for his dedication, brilliant mind, and kind nature. His immense contribution to music and music education will leave a lasting legacy that will continue for generations to come.

It was a privilege to have Georg perform regularly at our conservatorium over the years. His artistry and presence will be greatly missed.

Our deepest condolences go to his family, friends, colleagues, and to everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.

Rest in peace, Georg.

Meet the Teacher | Francis Yoon

We are so excited to welcome our newest member of our teaching team here at the Central Coast Conservatorium.

Come see him in action this Sunday as he plays in the Georg Pedersen’s 80th - Charmian Gadd and Friends Concert.

SHOUT OUT | Student Volunteers

Last weekend two of our students, Sophie and Harrison volunteered to pressure wash the concrete walkways.
There has been some amazing work achieved by our volunteer team this term and it looks like there is only more to come! Well done!

Opportunities for students to build up work experience are readily available in music making, events, cleaning, gardening, music preparation, ensemble set ups, canteens and so much more!

Congratulations, Jean — this recognition is incredibly deserved!! 👏🎶

Jean Irvine is not only a wonderful contributor to the Empire Bay Public School community, but also one of the Central Coast Conservatorium’s most avid and generous supporters.

Her passion for music, education and young people has made such a positive impact across our community. We’re incredibly grateful for everything Jean does to support music education and the next generation of musicians.

Yesterday we proudly celebrated one of the true treasures of the Empire Bay Public School community.

Congratulations to Jean Irvine, who was presented with a Staff/Community Excellence Award certificate at our Education Week Performance in recognition of her extraordinary contribution to our school.

Jean has dedicated countless hours for over 40 years to enrich the lives of our students through her musical expertise, developing our school band and supporting our choir. She is always the first to volunteer, generously supports school initiatives, has sewn aprons for our sustainability project, and never misses an opportunity to brighten the day of our staff with thoughtful acts of kindness.

Jean's unwavering commitment reflects the very best of public education, demonstrating the values of Service, Equity, Accountability, Trust, Integrity and Excellence every day.

Thank you, Jean, for the difference you make to our students, staff and wider school community. This recognition is so richly deserved. 💙💛👏

Come and experience a book like never before, where reading becomes a live performance and every sound helps tell the story.

Join us for a special Book Week 2026 performance where literature and live music come together in a unique and engaging experience. Students will bring a beloved story to life through a live dramatic reading, enhanced by original music, creative sound effects, and atmospheric audio performances.

As the story unfolds, student musicians and performers will create the soundtrack in real time, adding excitement, emotion, and imagination to every page. From mysterious sounds and dramatic moments to joyful melodies and vivid soundscapes, this collaborative event celebrates the power of storytelling through both words and music.

Musical Artist Adam Manning is joining us to perform the Acknowledgement of Country. Author Deborah Kelly will also join us to read her book ‘Little Horses’.
