🌎🚀 Room Spotlight – Oak Room (4–5 Years) 🚀🌎
Our Oak Room children have been reaching for the stars with their exciting Solar System Project! ⭐🪐
What began with a simple question:
“How do we get to space?”
Quickly evolved into an incredible inquiry-based learning journey, driven by the children’s curiosity, ideas and imagination.
Together, the children have:
✨ Explored the planets, their colours, sizes and unique features.
🚀 Designed and created their own rockets using recycled materials.
🧑🚀 Built astronauts, space stations and spacecraft through creative construction.
🌍 Collaboratively created a beautiful paper mâché Solar System.
🎨 Shared their knowledge through artwork, drawings and discussions about space.
One of our favourite parts of this project has been seeing the children’s thinking come to life. They eagerly shared their ideas about travelling to space, what they might see, and what astronauts need to survive. These conversations inspired further investigations, creative experiences and hands-on learning opportunities.
Projects like these foster so many important skills, including creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, communication and scientific thinking. Most importantly, they empower children to follow their interests, ask questions and become confident, capable learners.
A huge congratulations to our amazing Oak Room children and educators for creating such a wonderful exhibition. We are so proud of the curiosity, teamwork and imagination that has gone into every piece. 💙
