Year 6 are half way through one of the busiest terms of the year. Multiple excursions, leadership duties and events, along with committee responsibilities have challenged their time management and perseverance. In the classroom, we are focused on decimals place values and applying them to measurement and financial problems. Some robust conversations about rights and responsibilities have dominated our civics and citizenship discussions and science has sparked our curiosity about how electricity works as a form of energy. The students have begun thinking more about their transition to high school as part of their reading task by comparing the persuasive features in their high school websites and the messages of the Prophets are being echoed in their world of Religion. Below are some photos from their Book Week parade.

4A have been very busy learners this term! We have been focusing on our persuasive writing unit, coming up with great arguments and using persuasive techniques to guide our writing. The book week parade last week inspired our most recent persuasive piece: Why book week should be every week!

3A have had a very exciting past couple of weeks including our annual Book Week Parade and excursion to Atherton to visit Crystal Caves. As the picture shows, the class looked great in their book character costumes. The students’ recounts of our excursion to Atherton and visit to Crystal Caves shows what an enjoyable and memorable day we all had.

In Year 1A students have had a fantastic time in their gymnastics sessions this week. They’ve been busy stretching, balancing, jumping, and trying new movements with confidence and big smiles.

Gymnastics helps young children build strength, balance, and coordination, while also supporting focus and self‑confidence.

It’s been wonderful to see them enjoying being active and proud of what they can do.

Our Preppies have been working hard and making fantastic progress with their Heart Words, building confidence and developing their early reading skills every day. In Arts, students enjoyed exploring their creativity through colourful dot painting, creating beautiful pieces. Excitement is also building as the children get organised for the annual Prep Circus next week. They have been busy preparing and are looking forward to showcasing their enthusiasm, teamwork and circus skills in what promises to be a fun-filled event for everyone involved.

Year 2A have been enjoying using Essential Assessment to support and extend their Maths learning. They are becoming increasingly confident navigating the program, completing activities and using feedback to help them identify what they know and what they can improve.

It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they work through tasks independently and celebrate their progress.

Essential Assessment is a valuable addition to our Maths learning and the students are excited to see how they can continue to improve!
