🍽️ Building Independence at Mealtimes 🍽️
Our Huggable Hills (Junior Kindy) children have been focusing on developing their mealtime routines and independence skills.
Over the past few weeks, the children have been learning how to confidently serve themselves lunch, make choices about their food, and practice important self-help skills during mealtimes.
Through these experiences, they are developing confidence, coordination, responsibility, and a sense of belonging within their learning environment.
Our educators play an important role in supporting this learning by modelling positive mealtime practices, encouraging children to have a go, and providing guidance when needed. By creating a calm and supportive environment, educators help children build the confidence to make independent choices while fostering healthy eating habits and social interactions with their peers.
It has been wonderful to watch the children proudly take ownership of their meals, support one another, and demonstrate growing independence each day. These everyday moments provide valuable opportunities for learning and help build lifelong skills.
We are so proud of the progress our Huggable Hills children are making! 💚
