‼ Important Information for DDSS tomorrow, please see the below post about where to park at The Glennie School.

Some reminders about the 9-12 Years Track events and 9 Years Field events at Glennie tomorrow:

1. There will be portaloos near the entrance gate. Athletes, spectators and officials MUST use these … it’s a condition of our hire agreement.

2. The bunting around the oval is so no athletes nor spectators go into the school itself; again, we need to respect this if Glennie is going to continue to welcome us to their grounds.

3. Jet, from our office, will have try on uniforms for selected athletes in a Darling Downs tent. We encourage you to speak with her so you make informed purchases.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – UPCOMING DARLING DOWNS TRACK & FIELD EVENTS AT THE GLENNIE SCHOOL
We are very fortunate to have access to The Glennie School's tartan track for Darling Downs School Sport Track events. To ensure we can continue using this excellent facility, it is essential that all participants, officials, and spectators follow the Student Protection requirements and parking regulations.
Please refer to the map below and ensure you follow these important guidelines:

1. Parking: Please do not park in any areas marked with a red cross on the map below. Vehicles parked in these areas may be towed.

2. Venue Entry: Please enter the venue only via the gate marked in yellow on the map. This entrance is located off Herries Street. Pedestrian gate, just down from traffic lights on Herries Street (near Gate 1).

3. Access Restrictions: Please remain on the track side of the bunting that will be in place at each event held at The Glennie School. Portable toilets will be available near the entrance for your use. Please do not enter The Glennie School buildings or use the school's toilet facilities.

4. Alternative Parking: If street parking is limited, parking is also available at the Newtown Hotel.

Thank you for your cooperation and for respecting these requirements. By following these guidelines, you are helping us maintain our valued partnership with The Glennie School and ensuring we can continue to use this facility for future Darling Downs Track events.

🔹 Last Tuesday, our school community attended the Vietnam Veterans’ Day service to pay our respects.

Our school leaders proudly laid a wreath at the Goondiwindi Cenotaph, honouring the service and sacrifice of our Vietnam Veterans.

Darling Downs School Sports Track and Field- UPDATED INFORMATION!

Thanks for your patience.

The following information has been sent to all schools with 9-12 Years Track and Field competitors:

Glennie is NOT available on Friday, so we have to flip flop the two days to look like this:

• Thursday, August 27 (track events at Glennie, 9 years field events at Glennie);
• Friday, August 28 (field events at O’Quinn Street, 1500m events also at O’Quinn Street)

1. We realise this may impact some students who have prior commitments. For students who may not be able to compete, a Special Consideration Form must be completed and sent by close of business on Wednesday, August 26. Schools have these forms.

2. The program is being updated and this will be emailed shortly to schools, as well as going onto our website.

3. The 1500m events will be run on grass; selectors will adjust the qualifying standards accordingly.

4. Everyone is asked to please park respectfully at The Glennie School on Thursday; there were several vehicles towed from the shopping centre across the road and the bus stops outside Glennie on Herries Street during last week’s 13-19 Trials.

OUR AGREED PLAN AT THIS STAGE IS TO POSTPONE ALL 9-12 YEARS TRACK AND FIELD EVENTS FOR 48 HOURS, WITH FIELD EVENTS AT O’QUINN STREET ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 27 AND TRACK EVENTS AT GLENNIE ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 28. WE ARE WAITING FOR CONFIRMATION ON VENUE AVAILABILITY.

WE WILL COMMUNICATE A.S.A.P.

AT THIS STAGE, WE CAN DEFINITELY CONFIRM WE WILL NOT BE GOING AHEAD ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY THIS WEEK. THIS WILL PUSH THE MULTI-CLASS PARTICIPATION DAY BACK ONE WEEK.
