Goolwa Children's Centre Children's Centres bring together care, education, health, community development activities & family Welcome to the Goolwa Children's Centre page.

This page provides a place to discuss the Centre. The following guidelines are designed to help provide a quality environment for our whole community. Please take a minute to read them and keep them in mind whenever you participate. By using or accessing this page, you agree to comply with Facebook’s Terms and Conditions. We are delighted to hear from everyone and we understand that the education

and care of all Goolwa’s families is a passion we all share. We welcome all questions and commentary, including constructive feedback. We don’t take decisions on moderating posts lightly. But we do expect that participants post content and commentary that is both relevant and respectful to this community as a whole. If you wish to post photos, only post photos of your own children. Goolwa Children's Centre reserves the right to remove any posts that don’t adhere to our guidelines and to block anyone who violates them repeatedly. Goolwa Children's Centre for Early Childhood Development and Parenting brings together care, education, health, community development activities and family services for children from birth to six years of age. All programs offered at the Goolwa Children's Centre are available to ALL families in the community. You do not need to live in Goolwa, or have your child enrolled in our preschool. We invite all families who have children under 6 years of age to join in our programs. It is critical that the services offered within the Centre match the needs of the community. We are very interested to hear what community members and workers believe could be provided to further support families in the region. The purpose of this page is for;
- Promoting family-focused and parenting events in and around the Fleurieu
- Information sharing around parenting and family support
- A space for discussions, thoughts and ideas. The Goolwa Children's Centre Director and staff will regularly review content posted to the Goolwa Children's Centre page and reserve the right to, at their discretion, block Facebook fans and remove content that in their view breaches the Goolwa Children Centre's Facebook Guidelines. Hello
Over the last few years, we have been in discussion about the Cittaslow Community garden being relocated to the vacant block of land behind the Goolwa Children’s Centre. Planning for this new community garden in Chrystal Street is about to enter an exciting stage, where we are beginning to progress talks and actions for the garden and surrounding infrastructure. This will lead to developing a realistic project budget for members’ approval and allow us to finally begin construction. Therefore, we are looking to form two groups to lead this planning and we would love for you to be involved.

The ‘Garden Infrastructure Working Group’ will help to identify what is needed within the garden itself including; the number and type of garden beds, watering systems, composting areas and all the other components required to create a productive long-term plant-growing space.

The ‘Community Infrastructure Working Group’ will help identify what is required on the surrounding leased site outside of the garden space to make the area a productive and attractive facility for a broad section of the community.

These groups will be formed by Cittaslow who want to ensure they have a broad range of knowledge and experience within both groups. If you do have some experience that would help us with this community garden endeavor, we would be very keen to tap into that experience. Having said that, you don’t need to have any particular expertise to be part of the groups, all are welcome.

We expect that everyone responding will be able to be actively involved, have time to meet on a reasonably regular basis, be willing to bring productive ideas and work cooperatively with other members and the Steering Group.

The Steering Group will select members for both the Garden Infrastructure and Community Infrastructure Working Groups based on a balance of skills, interests and experience, then set up the initial meetings for each group.

If you would like to express your interest in being on either of these working groups, please reply to this email by Friday 14th August with a short statement of why you are interested. If you require any further information, please contact David on 8555 2509. We look forward to hearing from you.

Thankyou
